What do you need a strut brace on a 306 for?

Why is this in the general section?

Pretty rare in that colour though.

repairable write-off means the vehicle can be repaired and re-registered.

There are instances where the car can longer be registered. The particular VIN/ENG numbers become banned and the car can pnly be used for spares.

Basically it means "Enough money can fix anything" (ie) it can be fixed but if taken to a panel shop to be done will cost more than the same car for sale in a yard. deal
"Statutory write off" is as Tekkie suggests; strictly a parts only car that can never be re-registered.

If it ain't broke, use a 12" shifter.....that usually does the trick!!

I think we're asking why this is in General versus the Peugeot section, rather than it not being on AF at all.

Does the GTi6 engine fit in a 205?

If there is an open wallet there is a way. wink

the question is will the gearbox fit? The 6th gear would have atendency to stick out a tad. The dimensions of the engine, I would imagine, be the same as the Mi16.

I don't believe the 306 needs a strut brace. Take a look at how close the strut towers are to the firewall.

I'm sure you understand now that this is in the wrong section. It should be in the Peugeot section.

.... true Brenno. Ive made silly section mistakes like that though. So i was trying to make light humor of it. Couze i didn't want us froggie spoiling the peaz.
In regrads to the brace, honetly, at first was VERY much sceptical if would do anything at all. But it was $50 bucks so i gave it a go and honestly ive changed my mind. They are minimal at best though. Not worth the pric of a new one, best spent the equal amount on a good service. cheers mate - chris

Ok, assuming the Airbag sensor is ok, new front bumper N5 306 $1000 plus paint. Headlight $800 new, radiator drivers side guard $720, Bonnet $480, plus radiator support panel, new seat belts and battery, plus (if its cracked) a new radiator...... expensive repair, plus labour.
This is not a quote just what i see my best mates brother do when he quotes at Customer Service Smash Repairs, plus you get to choose genuine or copy parts?.... - chris

ps, ohh and that strut brace looks bent, so the rails are out, hence will need pulling on a jig... will the chassis ever be the same again?

Hey Chris, do you ever check your emails?

Tekkie, all you need to do is find a Xsara VTS that has been wrecked and take it's gearbox, which is smaller and should fit in the 205...or perhaps a Micra...hehehehe

Are the OMP Strut braces meant to have that kink in them?

I checked the body the chassis does not look bent

Car went for pretty cheap too

I think the guy did track days...he had OMP harness points still in the car. Cross drillled rotors and EBC Green Stuff pads

Those OMP struts braces should be dead straight, i have on in my S16. Honestly its VERY hard to see a bent rail, you need to get it on a JIG and mesure corner to corner.... - chris
