    maybach (mercedes) opinions?

i was just wondering what you guys think of the new maybach...its been long time coming but at 1 milion for a car ONE has to wonder about the social perspectives behind the existance of such a vehicle...i mean a milion bucks could feed a lot of hungry people???or at least a really nice merc v12 at 1 tenth of the price, a lancia delta integrale, a 205 t16,etc etc and still be able to feed a lot of people with the other half a mil.
    opinions???

    cheers

ps...is it just me or does the thing "look" like a really really GRAND HYNDAI...?

Does it have the Doppelschnellgang option?

Would be worth it for that alone!

Just gross. If people want to spend a million on a car, that's fine by me - it's their money after all. But for a million dollars, you'd want better styling. I agree with Dino, it looks like an oversized Hyundai.

If you've got serious money to burn, get this instead...

Now ya talking that Bugatti is the first production (limited at that)car to come with over 1000 bhp as standard NUTS!(I think it's got 1001 bhp, scary stuff) Who would buy a Maybach thing with optional umbrella holder, still with that sort of money to spend you could try and get an Enzo or a Porsche GT1 or invest the money wisely and retire early!!

thats pretty wild...from back third on..it looks like it just HATCHED...or like a snake; it just shed its skin...love the colour combo although it does feel like a BLOODY fast car just drove through a black car that was parked in the middle of the road...

nice but cost wise, probably still unjustifiable even though its a BUGGATi

    cheers

ps...i think people should be able to do with their money as they please...i was just wondering wether the prospective buyers would be the CARING TYPE..ie they probably find it easier to justify 1 mil on the car (as a status symbol) than $10 000 to a worthy charity...

Yes it would be the first flying car with an AF sticker. Recent reports in the media are that Bugatti are having trouble making the thing stay on the ground.

The Maybach is just UGLY! But then so are most of the bloated pig types who will be driven around in them.

Mind you, pics of the new BMW Rolls Royce show it is not much better! dead

If any of us were well-off to thepoint that Maybach's ae an option, and that person was me, ID BUY ONE!!!.....why? coz im my job i see LOTS of rich people with very nice rides, one thing in common. most don't really care wat YOUR opinion is. So to just really drive that message home ill be riding in my Maybach, sipping JonnyWalker Gold, removing my Martin&Stein Cuff links and taking a drive thru to Pure Platinum.......... on second thought NOT. LOL.

Had I the means to, I wouldn't buy a Maybach.
I wouldn't argue if my employer had one for me to be driven around in, though - I'd ask the chauffer to move aside. Twin-turbocharged V12... mmmm.... 0-100km/h in 5.6seconds is pretty good for something that size.

But I'd much sooner have the new Rolls-Royce Phantom, Jaguar Sovereign or BMW 760Li.

As for the Bugatti, I still reckon it doesn't look like anything special. Sure, it may have 1000hp, if merely for the sake of having 1000hp, but it seems to lack a sense of purpose or any individuality. Looks too much like the Audi Avus Quattro, Volkswagen W12 and Bentley Hunaudiers. Now if the Bugatti EB112 saloon were ever produced, that would be worthy of Bugatti badge and an AF sticker!
