Crocodile Burgers

Johnny,

I went for a drive in the new XSi with a friend this morning - up the Old Pac Hwy, then to Wisemans (the reverse way of the last drive day) and had lunch at the Wisemans Ferry pub - a crocodile burger.

I have to say I wasn't overly impressed, the meat was pretty tough.

I know you offered to cook crocodile burgers for us but is the meat always tough like that or what? :p

By the way - the XSi goes very nicely wink Oh yeah I got stuck behind a V8 Landcruiser for a while, but there was NO way I was even going to think about overtaking it!!!

Derek When we went on the last frog run when I had my R19 I had one of those burgers and they were pretty good.
Maybe you got an old croc.

Daniel,

Good point! Maybe Saturday Crocs aren't as good as Sunday Crocs??

Are you coming on the drive on the 16th (or is it 19th?) I hope you can make it! I want to see your C3 cos I haven't seen a blue one in the flesh yet. It'll really make it an afternoon of everyone's new aquisitions.

Hey Derek, just got back from the Motor Show and played around with the C3s on display quite a bit (a blue and a green). I like them a lot and would like to drive one, but one thing really stood out for me - how light the clutch was! It felt like it was an 'on' or 'off' button. Is it easy to drive or does it take a little while to get used to it? I know I'm used to a heavy clutch in the 505, but compared to most cars at the motor show, the C3 definately had the lightest of the cars I tried.

Deka, are you completely out of touch. Human flesh tastes like PORK. 'Long Pig' the Fijians used to call it in the good old days.

Speaking of the motor show I am working at Alfa which shares the stand with Citroen. I reckon Citroen will sell a hell of a lot of cars from this show. How good does the C3 look for $20000 in comparison with all the other junk for that price.

To be honest,

Most small Euro hatches have light clutches. Try a VW Polo. Secondly, it's really best to try the clutch when driving.

Having said that, the C3 does seem to want to win the "lightest of everything" competition.

Steering at parking speeds that make Japanese cars feel heavy in comparison for instance!

A bit like chicken but it has more bite!

I suppose if crocs could talk we could ask them what humans taste like - perhaps it would depend on where they're from.

eg- German tourist - "tastes like bratwurst"
Japanese tourist - "tastes like raw fish"
Chinese tourist - "tastes great, but 30 minutes later I want another one"

evil

I think I'll leave that one now.... sleepy

I agree. While I'm not a great fan of it's roundness, it definitely oozes heaps more character than anything else in that price range.

So you're working at the Alfa stand? I spent a fair bit of time checking out the 156s and 166 on Wednesday, I didn't realise just how nice they were. When I went to ask for a brochure, I thought the girls at the counter were quite nice too... wink

cheers!

Gotta say, there is plenty of eye candy at the stands

The only downside is, because they chiefly work for promotions companies, they don't have much knowledge.

There could be some benefit in getting enthusiasts to work on stands - at least they know their product. Having said that, you'd need to get ones who are up to date with the latest & greatest.

How did you all manage to change the topic from crocodile burgers to eye candy? Mind you, I did see Blue 206CC Girl yesterday.

I'd enthuastically work on the stands, as long as there was eye candy there too

And warwick2, sorry I am out of touch with what human flesh tastes like - I've not tried it lately :p

I think we all missed something here in the start. DeKa has now got an XSi - mongrel! I know how well they go and handle.

Good luck to you mate. The boss must be paying you too much!

Craig,

You're *admitting* that a car 'on the other side' is actually good? Gotta remember this everyone.

I think you missed a topic: http://www.aussiefrogs.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=001068

Are you going to meet us as we head up the mountains on Sunday afternoon?

Derek.

Yes I think the XSi is not too bad - for a pug! I think the Xsara VTS is better though.

Your post announcing the car could have been better like:

Yes, plenty of eye candy this year. The 'saleswomen' at the Audi stand were wearing semi-transparent dresses eek! . Someone speculated their outfits cost more than some of the cars .

The 'saleswoman' at the Lamborgini stand was posing for photos, which I think sums her role at the motorshow perfectly.

The Audi girls wear a semi transparent black lace outfit from Collette Dinigan...I'm assuming so anyway, as that's what they wore at the Sydney show.

The Peugeot girls wore a much nicer outfit from Leona Edmiston.
