    Moderators?

Does anyone want to be a moderator (don't like that term ) of a forum?
There can be four per forum.
Andreas has put his hand up for the Peugeot forum. Any objections?
The word moderator is the default for the board (we don't need moderating ). Anyone think of a better term?
eg. Forum Leader(?) (even that sounds toss toss )

Can I ask what is actually involved in being a moderator?

I can understand the concept in a basic sense, but I know two thirds of bugger all when it comes to computers.

Maybe an brief outline of the actual role would be of benefit?

That only leaves one third of bugger all you do know.
    Best I explain
A moderator does nothing really different. You have your name/ alias against a particular topic. It also let's you run that topic however you see fit.
Moderators can edit other users posts which is sometimes necessary when people stutter (ie. hit submit more than once - we have a few in here ).
So all in all, no big deal just thought we could fill the "no ones???" in the moderator column with avid enthusiasts names!!

mmm... Moderator, how about Bull Frog instead?
    Kane Toad?
    Big Bastard Frog?

Shane, you can put your site on the 'ole aussiefrogs if you want.
    How's http://aussiefrogs.com/shane or /doublechevron ?
Also which forum do you want to run? Citroen at a guess

    Hi gibgib,

you can put me down as moderator of the Citroen forum, and if the Renault and Peugeot forum have no-one, you can put me on them as well. It really isn't much work on this site, you don't get spammed and people never really say anything that needs 'moderating'

I'm also a the moderator/listowner of the Australian Citroen bulletin board, Aussie cits for sale, and citroen-aus yahoo group. In all it's been very little work as the people the at post to them are 'good people?? ' and don't say naughty things...

That's a kind offer to allow me to move my site here, how much does it cost you to keep this site going, if I was to move my site here I would like to 'help out' with costs.

    thanks,

    Done!
You are moderator of the Citroen forum
Let the other 2 forums mellow for a few days & see if anyone else puts their hands up

Costs are bugger all for this site. It's US$15.95 p/m (about AUD$30). I was hoping for more advertising to squash this more but Forget-Me-Not Giftbaskets help with $5p/m, so really $25p/m to run...
A small price for what we have here now, it's been worth it & so there is no need to help with any expenses
    Thanks Shane all the same!

If you decide to put it up on aussiefrogs, let me know what directory name you want & email the site files to upload.
If it needs updating I can give you access to the server as well.

    Thanks gibgib,

I'll get back to you about my homepage. I just did a quick check of it's size and it's 7MB!! Man where'd I use all that space...

I'll try and scare austasia into action 1st and see what happens (save's putting you out to I can see 243 people suddenly wanting you to host web pages for them. )

7 megs is fine, there is still nearly 70megs left on the server. Some of the downloads are bigger than that

Andreas, you still on for moderator of Peugeot forum? Will add you when you are ready.
Dropping Nick for a while. If he wants back on there is no problems

You have been added as mod of the Peugeot forum.

Like DoubleChevron has said, you rarely need to delete or amend anything.
Sometimes people post on the wrong forum or the same message across many forums.

I try to get in here once a day at least but can miss stuff too. Toyota has no place among frogs

    Cheers

I don't really mind being a moderator as long as i don't like have to do too much. but there would have to be another because i'm not on all the time. I'll be one if you still want one.

Righto, seeing as you are noticeably vocal in the humour section I'll put your name against it.
You can remove/ edit anything objectionable even the car park attempt by the womens lib

Your email address tells me you may not be the only moderator in your house

PS. am I spelling Humour correctly or does the spell checker speak American? Not Humor is it?

Why don't we just introduce her to my youngest (brat) son??
Maybe they were made for each other - could make a *lovely* couple
