    Harmonic balance

Just had an e-mail from a guy in Melbourne who has just had the harmonic balance give out on his BX 16V (= Pug Mi16) I have heard of this before on one occasion over in Perth. Has anyone here had the same problem or heard of anyone having it?

If it ain't broke, use a 12" shifter.....that usually does the trick!!

Alan, its very common we sold two today, one on a 16V and one on a R21. we have change over in stock, sell for $225 plus GST, I think geniune is over $400. There fitted on Renault 21/25, while BX16V and 405MI16 share the same pully, the Renault is different, C/O ones are done in eurathane which will out last the original rubber.

Thats a good price David ! I have a harmonic balancer from a new 306 on the 405. Cost me $170 second hand !!
I have this as a result of the twin 45DDCOE Weber conversion.

    Hi Dave,

how long do the new bushes last in the harmonic balancer?

I should send the CX top mounts back to you that I have so you can re-use them. I think I must be overly destructive. The two rebushed top CX mounts you sent me lasted a total of 5 days combined... (I'm not a rough driver either). I think that is because my car has a single top mount rather than two like most CX's out here....

Next time I take the old bomb down for a spin round the Great Ocean Road I'll se if I can't turn the re-bushed steering knuckles to jelly as well

Do you intend to get new bushes made up for the BX power steering ram. No way am I buying a new power steering ram simply because the bush that attaches it to the steering rack is cactus. I'll try to get/make some bushes locally maybe? I must be the only person that's had a problem with this bush am I?? I sortof expected you to say, "oh yer, got 10 of them sitting on the shelf here, they die all the time"

    seeya,

PS: Hey guys, your not s'possed to tell him he has cheap parts... We're customers and are meant to bitch and complain about cost no matter how cheap they are...

Hi Shane, well I'm glad we've got someone like you road testing our parts for us. Better then those rally cars anyday cause they don't stuff em.
Seriously but, those 16V pullys, we've never had one fail, but then again we've never sold one to you.
I just emailed you about those bushes on the ram, they are available seperate, they just look like cheap eye bushes but I need a chassis no to order them.
