    Wakefield Park Historic racing

Does anyone know when the next historic race meeting is on at Wakefield Park? Usually in November from memory. Do they have a website?

There's a GEAR day on next Wednesday week... ie a fortnight from tomorrow.

Top days... if you can make one of them you'll enjoy yourself.

    Golden Era Auto Racing Club...

Basically Historic Car owners who're jack of CAMS, have a bit of an afternoon to themselves occasionally and want to have a bit of a squirt without any pressure.

The format is essentially like a race day, with a bunch of seven minute races. After (or maybe just before...) the seven minutes are up, somebody decides to hang out the chequered flag and whoever is next to go by wins that 'race'...

It's mainly set up so everyone will get a trophy and simply have a lot of fun.

There was the day, of course, when the August rain and wind was interrupted by some hail... but that's Goulburn for you.

Always very interesting cars there, however. Well worth dropping in. And, of course, it's free.

Thats the Plan Tekkie, hopefully everything is in order. I expect to be a tad slower in this car as I am down on 16kw!

But you have a lower diff ratio don't you?

It makes a fair bit of difference.

Im not certain I have got the lower ratios as the car has a BE3 box. I havet been able to confirm yet, it feels slower than my previous car.

Your 75kW car has the 3.94:1 diff, rather than 3.62:1, found in the 90kW car. All the other ratios are the same, except for 1st, which is a bit lower, 3.25 rather than 2.92. If you multiply all the gears out, you'll find it's a closer set of ratios than the Mi16 box. Fifth gear works out the same:
    3.94 x 0.866 = 4.43 x 0.76

Looking forward to a good day! I don't think you'll be that far behind me Parry. That Swift has got me worried though.

nevermind the swift, its the driver thats a worry. evil

I dont think any of us will be too far behind.
    It IS a short track.
Short geared Pug is a joy to behold on the small track like Wakefield. Swift gearing is a tad tall for racing. And the gearbox I have in it now is a royal pain in the... 2nd gear pops out at turn 8 as you hit the bump. But that is being looked into for the next meeting.

there there, the time is close where the coach will let you come off the bench, or is it a self imposed penalty box?
