Slim Dusty, Passing of a Legend.

I was saddened the other day to hear of the passing of the King of Country music, Slim Dusty.
His was the voice of Australian Country music, and he will be sadly missed.
His career spanned many decades, and he had released 106 albums at the time of his death. His 107th album is due to be released later this year.

Most people say I am a bit wierd. I like Country, Classical, Jazz, and a bit of 60s-70s stuff, like Beatles and Supertramp. I hate most modern popular music.

I was lucky enough to meet Slim Dusty once, at the "Pub With No Beer" at Taylor's Arm. He was there to unviel a memorial to Gordon Parsons, the writher of the song. Shorty Ranger was also there.
I had my photograph taked with Slim. I was only about 10 at the time, so it was a fantastic experience, although it is fairly insignificant as Slim met thousands of people. Still, I am glad I met him, although I was not able to see him perform in concert.
