Did anyone see or hear Alan Jones this morning on the subject of fuel prices?

Ten years ago the oil companies said that the Aussie Dollar going up a cent pulled a cent off petrol per litre... and that each dollar off a barrel of oil did the same.

Compared to when they made that statement, the price is about 18c per litre higher than it should be... if I recall it all correctly.

there is a report tonight on the news about how a certain percentage of cars are going to have trouble running with 10% ethanol
has anyone heard about this at all ?
to further this i used to run on the odd occasion around 10litres of methanol in a tank full in a 504 without any trouble
    it went well though
the car ran cooler and performed better due to the higher octane and it smelled nice as well
funny how the local blue boys never liked it though

As i understand it, the problems that may effect cars with higher Ethanol levels, is the molecule size, as with Methanol different jet sizes may be required. Methanol requires larger jets or different EFI mapping. The possible consequence is of course a lean mixture, burning valves & or pistons. As mentioned in another thread. There is a fleet of suburban busses in Melbourne, most using pure Ethanol with several using Hydrogen.
There are possibilities out there, I believe the oil companies attempt to thwart ALL new Technologies.
    cheers!
