Buy it at jaycar or Dicksmith electronics, also Some big hardware houses like Bunnings.. by the way i hope you make it out of MDF or something similar, dont use chipboard, and screw the speakers VERY tightly and securely. Ive seen a 6X9 speaker go flying thru the front screen whilst a brake test for rego... so be carefull. cheers Xq

Not as expensive as buying a parcel shelf from the relative car marker. My little bro has an old laser, and ford wanted over $500 for a new parcel shelf, which is worth about a 1/4 of the car.

The Pug one with speakers is almost $500 plus fitting (they re-wire all the back back to the head unit) .... but it is a perfect fit.

I wonder what speakers they put in there?

I know the 307's front ones aren't worth much at all

There is a guy who travels the 4WD show circuit and also field days who sells carpet, good quality cheap, I bought the carpet to cover my rear roller drawer setup in my cruiser $35 for a piece 1.8 x 1.2 mtrs, more than enough to do a parcel shelf.

6x9's with separate tweeters ... yet to see any in the flesh - although the dealer told me they have installed them in at least 2 cars.

Great!

are you able to post pics, how did it go? I am installing a couple of 6"x9"'s at the end of this month and maybe a 10" sub in my 206 and I am going to replace the parcel shelf too. I was just going to use a jigsaw and a slab of MDF and make it identical to the current shelf.

Fit's nicely?

i'll try to post pics asap....
its pretty easy...just copy the existing parcel tray...and just make sure u cut it in the right places on the sides...and it should slot in nicely...
theres two foam pieces on the boot...dat push the parcel shelf in...u may hav to cut a bit to allow these....

I couldn't find a post I thought i posted - did you have a look at Hobart Audio Clinic and go to projects and 206. I'd give you the specific link but my computer's playing silly buggers.

Guys, i used to install for a living and im not a big fan of parcel shelf speakers from a safety factor, we all drive our frogs pretty hard, id just hate for these speakers to turn into missiles under heavy braking or in a crash, so please promise you will screw them down tight, or even better put the speaker under neath and screw from under, then cover the whole shelf inblack spaker cloth.. very stealth.
Also make some sort of braket for the front edge that pushes against the rear of the seat, anything to stop it from falling out. Also the firmer they are in the better they will sound, bonus. cheers Xq

Its a good look - did that to front speakers in the Fuego doors. Just cut out the trim backing and left the carpet trim so you had to feel for where the speaker was. Not a big fan of those "look at me" type setups - I like to just sound good.
