Does everybody check their private messages?

I wonder how many people hardly ever check their PMs? I know I have sent 4 in the last week that haven't been read by the recipient.
I have email notification turned on, and it is handy, as sometimes I only have a few minutes to check the email but I still get any PMs that have been sent to me.

Does the last coupe of messages you sent me show as being read? I have read them. I had a couple recently that I knew had been read but they showed as unread. Perhaps a software prob with the board?

BTW - no probs re the postage.

They only show up as 'read' once people go to "My Profile" and actually read them there.

If people only read the 'email notification' version of the message it will still show up as unread.

Well I have attempted to suggest an improvement, whereby the forum software would say

    "G'day {name} You have {x} new Private Messages [ Log Out ]

at the top left under the Aussiefrogs logo but unfortuantely the majority ruled against my suggestion.

    I'd vote for that.

There have been quite a few times that I've tried to PM people, but to no avail.

Normally I prefer email, but sometimes people don't have an email address listed.

As said above, the email notifier emails you the actual message. So if you don't respond, the message will appear as unread for the sender. I don't check my PMs, I rely on the email.

Actually, one good feature I came across on the Swedespeed forums, is when you send an instant message, as soon as that person visits the forum, it'll pop up on the screen.

Very hard to miss, unless you have one of those popup killers.
