    More swivelling headlights...

I see that in addition to Vauxhall...??? BMW and Mercedes have now also introduced 'active headlights' that swivel, a la DS...

Another boring bit of trivia from the House of Stuart. Carry on...

One of the accessory light makers (Hella?) is developing swivelling driving lights. The top of the range ones will have electronic sensors to determine when you are turning, while the cheapies will be weighted and swivel when you corner hard.
I believe the first to use swivelling headlights was the 1948 Tucker Torpedo, of which only 50 were built before the company went broke.

    Stuey, et al,

We've had a bit of a chat on this one in the Cit forum a while back.

    Have a look at <a href="http://www.aussiefrogs.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000295" target="_blank">http://www.aussiefrogs.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000295</a>

Interesting to note the first patent I could find was issued to a Tasmanian in 1926 wink

    Cheers
    Chris

Thanks for that - that's what pronpted my follow up post. While on the headlight theme, I was interested to notice my brother's new Mazda 6 has Cibie headlights. (Wow!) eek!
