    How does this work out?

    Any experts on the vagaries of the Pacific Highway here?

    Care to explain this?

    Before the Port Macquarie turnoff...

    <img src="http://www.austarmetro.com.au/~raybell/bne566.JPG" alt=" - " />

    After the second Port Macquarie turnoff...

    <img src="http://www.austarmetro.com.au/~raybell/bne660.JPG" alt=" - " />

    And no, it's nothing to do with the pop rivets holding the number on the first one... that was to compensate for the 17km reduction in the distance after the Murwillumbah bypass went in... you see that change all along the highway.

    Maybe that is why it always seems to take longer to go somewhere than it does to come back? (Yes I know there are holes in that argument you can drive a bus through, I was just trying to be humourous!)

    Yeah...

    You may resume your seat at the back of the class... in the meantime, here's another...

    I'm not the only one who notices, apparently.

    Ray it must take you forever to get anywhere. You're forever stopping and photographing signs!

    There must be a term for this. Wonder what it could be?

    I don't stop for long... though I must admit that the one near Premer I did have to back up a little way.

    The Pacific Hwy signs I'd earmarked for attention the previous trip... sweating that nobody fixed them in the meantime. Maybe two minutes onto the total trip time?

    No, actually less than that... I'd had to stop at the second one anyway because I was out of fuel and needed to syphon a drum into the tank!

    The sign posting in this country is appalling.

    A sweeping statement there, Danny Boy...

    I've highlighted a mistake or two, but I see thousands of these signs every month.
