    Rally Report - Day 1

Great day today. Saw 4 stages. Got to some REALLY good spots. Burns was really held back by sweeping the gravel, being 1st car on the road. Carlos Sainz was driving like McRae usually does! Gronholm was also going VERY quick, Rovenpera alos putin a good performance.
Unfortunately McRae went out in SS5 with a broken wheel. We saw him limping back to service with no nose.
At the end of the day the top ten results are:

    1 M Gronholm Peugeot
    2 M Martin Ford +38sec
    3 P Solberg Subaru +5sec
    4 R Burns Peugeot +11sec
    5 H Rovenpera Peugeot +8sec
    6 S Loeb Citroen +22sec
    7 T <akinen Subaru +3sec
    8 C Sainz Citroen +17sec
    9 M Stohl Peugeot +13sec
    10 D Auriol Skoda +10sec

Very close all over, so should be a very good day tomorrow.

And to keep my best mate happy, here's the new Focus.

    Great photos Izza!
Mind if I ask what camera you are using?

A question for you all - I don't know much (anything?) about Pug/Cit rally cars... but it seems to me from the pic of the Xsara and the 2nd pic of the 206 that they must be 4WD/AWD - from the amount of dirt being thrown directly out from behind the rear wheels that is.

All of the WRC cars are AWD. AFAIK, 206, Focus, and Xsara are all AWD cars.

Cheers for the comments guys. I'd love to be a motorsport photographer, they get all the primo viewing spots.
I'm gonna ring up some of the local Motorsport mags and see if they want any of em.
The camera I use is a Fuji S602, 6x optical zoom, up to 6 MegaPixel, shutter speed up to 1/10,000 of a sec. Here's the website for more info
    <a href="http://www.fujifilm.com/JSP/fuji/epartners/Products.jsp?nav=0&parent=PRODUCT_CATEGORY_471517& product=43860757" target="_blank">Fuji FinePix S602</a>

Those pics I've shrunk down to a reasonable size to put on the forum. There actually taken at 2048 x 1536. So they come out pretty well! Should be able to print them off A4 size, maybe even A3 without loss of quality.

See my latest topic for more pics.
