    Fuel injectors

Does anyone know how long EFI injectors tend to last? My unleaded R25 has around 210000 ks on her. She has a reco head, even compresions, new Valeo plugs, leads, dist cap, fuel filter etc. It does have a suspect fuel pump mind you, still works, but is getting a bit noisy - should change it before it leaves me on the side of the road! Yet she still idles a little uneven, rocking the car ever so slightly occasionally. I run it on premium.
Should probably wait to see if a good pump fixes it (lowish pressure?), but I've heard people say that injectors should be changed around the 100000 km mark.

Take the injectors to someone who can service them properly. For less than $100, you should be able to get them back flushed, new filters fitted and flow tested. I had mine done and they all returned to as new spec. Prior to cleaning there was up to 25% difference in flow rates. Don't forget to ask for pre and post flow rate data. If they can't supply this you haven't gone to the right place.

    Hi Haakon,

this sounds like a vacuum leak downstream of the air flow meter to me. Check the seals around the injectors and hoses/joints after the air cleaner. Try spraying a little aerostart (don't blow yourself up) around the injectors and hose joints and see if the engine rev's change.
