    Go karting at Willowbank

Hey all, I'm trying to organise a karting day for the french car freaks and the rest of the freaks out there. The venue is Willowbank, date to be announced. I need about 15 - 20 people to make this a fun experience (there also is a discount for larger groups). I just need a show of hands as to who would be interested. This isn't you normal family carting venue where you just drive around in circles... we WILL be racing!

I'm a possibility... but I'll need to be aware of the date well in advance. And it will have to be when I'm in Queensland.

Check out the place at Kingston, too... may be more central and they have two tracks now... or three.

Kingston park is OK, their supposed 3 tracks are actually just 1 but sections of the track is opened and closed at random. their carts aren't all that quick either, but their facility is really good with computerised timing on EACH kart! but hey... I'm easy

yeah count me in with 2. kingston is quite expensive plus they have that silly idea that u must buy a licence for an extra $5..just a ripoff. the archerfield track is pretty quick but i dont know if they have timing facilities tho.

    4fan,

They took the forums down about 2 weeks ago, have a look at :

    www.performanceforums.com

All the lads are there now.

Kingston have the 4 stroke go karts, so not as good as the two strokers.

Archerfield are a bunch of cowboys, and the track is pathetic.

Willowbank has a huge track and two stroke go karts with a centrifugal clutch set up so its harder to stall them.

I will be coming out for a look, but after this spending spree on the Pug, i canny afford to go for a run.

    Maybe next time.

Sounds like everyone is keen on Willowbank. The guys down there provide everything (clothing wise and helmet) you get to wear these sexy overalls. I really do need more people for it to be cheaper and more interesting. So tell the kids, tell your grandma, contact your local council member WE NEED MORE PEOPLE. I'll get prices this arvo for Willowbank

I might be able to bring two teenage stepsons...

But it has to be when I'm in Queensland... probably on a Saturday.

Not this Saturday, but either of the following two, then there will be two Saturdays each month henceforth.

I will probably be able to drum up a couple of the boys' friends as well. They should all fit in the Familiale...

By the way, did you price the Big Kart track at Landsborough? It's pretty good, and more convenient for us... better surroundings too. It's about 5km from the freeway at the Caloundra turnoff, of you can take the old highway through Beerburrum and Beerwah to get there... better travelling than Willowbank too.

The landsborough karts are sloooooooow. you can litterally do yhe whole track without using the brakes or letting off the loud pedal for that matter. whats more, they let you have a drive and a drive only, ie no racing- no practice, no qualifying and definitely NO racing. they tend to get a tad irrate if you get within 2 meters of each other. they aren't that much cheaper either

Sounds fine to me... but for the 22nd I would have a better chance of rounding up extras.
