Default 'Wheels' exhibition Canberra - Anyone know if it still exists?

It may have been years since the car show in Canberra was called 'Wheels' - an annual exhibition. Does anyone know if it is still held, and when? I haven't lived in Canberra for years and am interested to know if it is still on (or something similar) when I'm back for holidays in Feb/Mar 06.

    Cheers!

Is that "Marques in the Park" or something?

    Default Wheels

    180,

Marques in the park is different again and just gone by in December as you know. Wheels is bigger again and should be good this year. I might drag out the old mans Morrie Minor or 504 for the day.
Anyone keen to make a half decent display of modern Pugs this year?

Bonz, go with the 'rounded' theme - take the Morrie! More character

    Default Wheels 2006

    BP.

I suppose we could continue the UK theme and eat Pork Pies in 35 degree heat??
When you arriving anyway and I'll make sure the lawns are mowed?

Last time I took your 2CV to Wheels I had to get a jump start from the Cit folk. How embarassment...as Effie would say.

I think the 73 504 is in order rather than the Morrie - its the best early std 504 in Canberra!

    Prost!

    PORK PIES!!!

Have you ever tasted those things? The cold ones from a Total garage at the side of a motorway =

There won't be any jump starting this year, after a nice long run from Perth to Canberra to charge the battery!

I'll probably be arriving in Canberra late Feb sometime...depends if I make it along the Nullarbor trans access road in one piece

I've only been able to find a reference to it on Shannon's website, as the major sponsor - not really any detail.

I'll be a first timer, so do I have to register with anyone or just turn up on the day? Is attendance being organised through individual Canberra based marque clubs?

Those Pork Pies make me shudder - squeaky teeth. But Mrs Trixie made her first patch of home-made ones yesterday. Totally different. Yum yum yum.

    Hi,

I cut this from another forum fyi...

    ---------------------

...Once again the annual Shannons Wheels Expo is on the 12th March 2006 in front of Old Parlaiment House. Shannons are the major naming right sponsor again and see this as a great event to be associated with.

Shannons Wheels is a council of motor clubs event. Each club should provide the council event coordinator with approx numbers before the event for space etc to be allocated. (There are no individual entry forms etc, they just need an idea of what clubs will be there and numbers in each club)

    [and then some Ford stuff...]

    Cheers
