Default We should be called Aussie Windmills!

Can i just point out that Aussie Frogs sticker colours are actually colours of Dutch flag.
I just noticed it recently, im sure you guys already did, but i just wanted to say it. We could redesign the sticker, its kinda funny to have dutch flag for french cars forums .

Well as the founder of the greatest car company in the world was from Dutch parents, I suppose there is some relevance in the stripe layout - a silent tribute of sorts eh?

Well there could be some relevance there, but not much. It would be nice when you look at the sticker to instantly recognize it is a french flag.

I have AF sticker on my car, but i would put more on if they looked like french flag.

aussie windmills "Windmills" a generic term for machinery powered by WIND earliest forms to mind are the Dutch mill & the North American and later the Australian water pumping windmills,
Q: what relevance do these have to French cars in Aussie land ?

Pavle, if you look at aussie frogs history, it goes back a few November prior to your joining this november past.
The stickers were made after consultation with management and membership at the time. they are as much apart of aussie frogs now as the name & have found their way around the world, via sales on ebay to sticker collectors & postage to aussie frog drivers overseas.
If asked to vote i'll put my hand up for if it ain't broke leave it alone.

Frogs are associated with french and windmills are associated with dutch. Since Aussie Frogs sticker looks exactly like dutch flag i was just making a punt or a joke.

As i said, you guys probably noticed it before and i just find it funny that french car forum has a dutch flag for a sticker.Wouldn't you find it funny if Golf forums had french flag for a sticker?

But if everybody is happy with it, so am I. I already have one on my car.

Lately I though a German flag might have been more appropriate?

I note if going with a flag theme the colours are still correct, the difference being French have verticle colours & Netherlands horizontal.
I guess i orta get the aussie magna club to make there's using a Rising Sun.

This has bugged me for a while. But the little Aussie frogs flag up at the start of the url looks like:

Many flags have similarities and confusion abounds. Any aussie who has been out of the country for a while and who is suddenly presented with the NZ flag will probably think that it is an Aussie flag, but then hopefully he/she will slowly twig to the mistake and say that , "well, that does look a bit strange, there is something wrong with that flag". I have seen it happen many times.
Another big problem is the sport colours that Australians have. These colours can easily be muddled up with Brasilian or South African or even a Carribean island's colours. I don't think one needs to say, "Oh! there is a Boer Aussie sportsman".
I think the drift I'm driving has sunk in, but it was in jest I see.
I like the froggie sticker as it sticks.

Speak for yourself, but where you seem to have pretty ordinary repairers down your way, we seem to have the same for the krautwagons up here, so in my case the reverse is the accepted norm which is why I keep getting quite amused at all this promo for cars made by 'der master race' and could explain why some keep telling us all how good they are instead of backpatting on the krautwagon forums where they'd probably get laughed off.

So we are twisting the argument back on itself once again.....

Now as for the link between windmills and wind, frequently around these forums you may just be onto something. Although I don't think tulips like copious amounts of hot air.

Maybe we can make stripes vertical, as they should be, and leave everything else the same.

    Very nice compromise

    I wouldn't mind that

Afterall, Iraq probably has the most Peugeot 505's, 2nd to Egypt

Also a huge supply of Renaults... probably 2nd to France only! Every 2nd car is French!! (government only imported French cars for 15 years or so!!)

Nah, seriously, i never noticed this! I think we do need a logo change, the logo should represent the French flag and not the dutch!!

I mean it would be nice to have french sticker on my french car, instead of having dutch flag there. We could run a poll or something on this question.

Have a flick through this thread, see if there is anything you like, and better still have a crack at making up something yourself.

Aussiefrogs Art - Are you an Aussie-Froggie-Artist?

Whilst I'm also looking for a bit of a "refresh", you have to realise a lot of time and effort went into the "look" about 4 years ago, a wholesale change would mean reprinting banners, stickers, new website look etc etc (and I think some of the original designers may take offence to that as well).

I like this one, its simple and its easy to spot. Its done by Mistreno. I understand thats its a lot of work. We could use current sticker and just make lines vertical, as they are in french flag.

But its your forum guys and you made the stickers so it should stay the way that you want.

It was just observation more then anything else.

Now that one I really like and could contemplate having on my car! As an architect/designer I feel my vote could count twice.

Although arguably for me, being an Aussie of Dutch background driving a French car, the current sticker . . . no, that gets too confusing.

I think that if there were to be a change of sticker and other associated paraphernalia that the suggested emblem posted by Pavle captures the ingredients of the club well. The French flag and the Australian Southern Cross embodied in one with the necessary information with it all.

As long as we are only talking about French cars and nothing political or historical wrongs that may or may not have been committed by one or other of the countries it is fine and dandy.

    Phil with of encouragement.

(Now, all I need is a sticker myself).
