    Icon6 Nulon Oil - Advertisment

    Hey folks,

Just spotted a Ad for Nulon Oils on Page 93 of the Jan 06 issue of MOTOR magazine.

    Has anyone used these yet???

Am confused by their own "Classifications"
    15W-50 "Street & Track - High Performance"
    10W-30 "Hi-Tech Fast Flowing"
    15W-40 "High Protection Diesel Formula"

My question is - why would you not have the "Fast Flowing" used for "Track" use????? Are they aiming it for V8 users??? Also, the Diesel oil is thinner when hot.....................

Is my understanding of oil weights correct??? I know for highly stressed/low tolerance engines (VTEC/VVC etc.), the thinner the oil when hot, the better (W20/W30/W40 etc.)

On strong advice from this wonderful AF.com forum, I know the GTi180 needs/has to have 5W40 and nothing else. And this is what I will stick to.

    Cheers,

I've just put a batch of the 15w-50 in the GS. So far it seems to be oil

Hi tech fast flowing.. I would take it to mean it is for those engines with very small oil galleries used for, among other things, variable valve timing which needs oil to be fast flowing for quicker response by the valve mechanism
