Default Whats this white thing & whats it doing on my windscreen?

I bought a Xantia in Sydney & brought it over to SA, there is this square white thing stuck to the inside of the windscreen. It has a round knob sticking out of the middle of it & raised ring running around it as well. What is it? Something to do with e-tags?? Has anyone successfully removed one? It is rather firmly attached.

Yes, that's the E-tag. Or at least the holder of it. Hence I rather stop and pay my toll in cash rather than stick one of those on my car. The newer ones are a bit smaller. Still look hideous though.

The ones in vic sound similar and are stuck on with double sided tape. Its good stuff. I wish you could buy it. You should be able to pull it off and clean up residue with a blade.

My dad can't keep his on. Everytime he parks the car in the sun it falls off, so get a hair dryer and heat the windscreen up and see if that works.

    Cheers

Well it seems you won't be using the M7 Orbital, Cross City Tunnel or Lane Cove Tunnel. I would expect that by the end of 2006 or sometime 2007, all Sydney toll roads will be cashless.

The best thing to get rid of sticky stuff of any description is eucalyptus oil. There's plenty of it distilled around Bendigo.

Yeah, they have some serious grip to them. Just managed to remove one of my S16 after a couple of attempts. You wont be able to just pull it off.
Get a nice thin paint scraper blade and work at it from both ends. You should be able to pry it off eventually. It wont leave any residue either.
