    Default Drive (Channel 10)

Tuned in for the first time today and i got to say what a pathetic copyright of top/fifth gear. The layout is similar to top gear when there on stage and they have cut bits out of fifth gear and used some of there car reviews which seems very disjointed when it follows the aussie host.

Who is 'the Chip' looked like craig lowndes who has nothing on the stig.

I found the show boring, non informative and a hot lap around phillip island in a foulcan ute

07:30 pm DOCUMENTARY SERIES - TOP GEAR

Top Gear is a high octane mix of performance cars, adrenalin, comedy and celebrities. It's the BBC motoring magazine that test drives and brutally appraises the world's most popular cars with startling honesty, along with celebrity laps, irreverent wraps and breathtaking stunts and driving. In this episode, the Aussie Holden Monaro is tested against the best of British and American car technology on a Welsh beach. Along with car tests and comparisons, news and reviews, Top Gear features well-known celebrities trying for the fastest lap on the race track. With its three presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond being egged on by a studio audience, Top Gear is an entertaining car show that features the latest and fastest cars. The section clipped from 5TH gear with the big hobbit doing the demo of the Touareg had a froggy component that was a bit disturbing, an Espace was connected to the back of the V10 - 750Nm powered oil burning brute ( some contest, damn motor mass almost equals the Espace) on a grass surface to show the gallant people mover spinning its wheels while moving in the wrong direction . A combine harvestor then became Touareg powered, impressive, on the street though?

I'd tend to agree, but apparently people are voting with their eyes. Mind you there would be teensy bit of bias in the article given its source :-)

Companies such as Bridgestone Tyres and Shell Optimax have taken up sponsorship of Drive but their contract does not require their brands to be spruiked onscreen. Ten sells casual spots around the show.
So recomending which Bridgestone tyres each car should have is not spruiking then?
Murray : And there are flames coming from the back of Prost's car as he enters the swimming pool!
James Hunt: Well that should put them out then!

I saw my first episode of drive this arvo (or parts there of). Not only is it a half arsed rip off of top gear, but it looks like a chance for car manufacturers to get a paid advertisement disguised as a car show.
