Yep, starts on Monday 12th December at 7:30pm. Is an episode from earlier this year, so not the brand new series, but is good that they are starting with this episode.

Awesome. Have you seen any of this season? This season is only brief (8 episodes I think), but if the first episode is anything to go by......

Ah yes I've seen all of it too (although watching 'em again is still good!)

But the one thats currently running now in the UK? There have only been two so far. Just watched the most recent one today. Jeremy describes the new RS4 as "biblical", and "easily superior to the BMW M3", he reckons its V8 engine (revs to over 8000rpm) is one of the greatest engines of all time.

It was 1 second quicker at their track than the new Porsche Cayman tested in the same episode.

Wow, that's not sitting about. Same weather conditions, though?

As for HDTV, I doubt very much it's shot/mastered in HDTV, and can tell you categorically it won't be shown on SBS in HD, unless you count SD upsonverted to 576p or 720p as HD.

Can't wait!!! The last episode I saw was on a BA flight to Bangkok. They raced an Aston Martin from the UK to Monaco against the train. The crew on the train had maps and GPS tracking logs of the Aston. Brilliant. The conclusion was that an Aston Martin is a better choice than public transport. Hmmm.

The DVDs I got off Mike (thanks Mike!!!) who bit torrented them run on my DVD player onto a plasma TV. Quality isn't bad and IS shot in widescreen unlike many American shows which are poverty and are still in 4:3.

I've seen the first episode of the new series... TopGayer anyone?

Anyway, bit more interesting was a clip I downloaded which compared new model cars against their predecessors in a drag race. For example Mk1 Golf GTi against Mk4... etc. Out of 5 races, only two current model cars beat their predecessors. They Toyota MR2 & the Pug 206 GTi 180 absolutely cained a 1.9 205 GTi... Of course, this was only a straight line race over 1/5th of a mile

Yeah, we discussed that in another thread already (one of the mighty 206 vs 205 threads that pop up every other week). I totally reckon the 205 got a duff launch though, those things rocket from a standstill (then get whooped).

They never got the "good" mk1 mr2 in the uk either, the supercharged one, which would've handed the mk3 it's arse on a platter.

New season of top gear (the current uk one) is looking better than the one that broadcast earlier this year. Looks like the boys are back on form.

Will be interesting to see if they show the cut down 1/2 hour episode that they show on BBC World or the full hour show that airs in the UK.

The RC car segment in the latest episode had me in stitches - getting beaten by a 15 y.o. girl MWAHAHAHA
Murray : And there are flames coming from the back of Prost's car as he enters the swimming pool!
James Hunt: Well that should put them out then!

She was a bit too quiet/boring though. But was an awesome segment! I did like the way she trashed her Bimmer at the end though!!!
