Default End of an Era for Puggy

    Good evening Fellow froggers.

Today was a momentous day in history for me. Today marked the end of my almost 6 year relationship with my beloved Peugeot 206. I traded the little hatchback of nortedam today and bought a BMW 325i Coupe to replace it.

I have been cruising all day in my new ride and I love it, my digicam is outa juice so I couldnít take pics, will take some soon.

I will still hang around the toad pond, and I will keep providing advice in the Peugeot forum, especially helping out the 206 owners where possible (I think almost everything that can happen to a 206 has happened to mine in the last 5 and 3/4 years) My (ex) 206 will actually be 6 years old next month! Having one of the first 206ís delivered in Australia has been a buz and I will miss the little froggy dearly.

My new ride is an E36, so itís actually older then my pug. Good buy? Meh I guess time will tell, but I think it is.

I hope to still remain active and share the AussieFrogs knowledge with other 206 owners. It was an awesome car and we shared many awesome times

For those of you who are members of ECCA (Quite a few AussieFroggers I believe) I will be active over on those forums.

Iíll post pics of my new ride soon.

If this message should be moved to the pond, moderators feel free

I should ad, thankyou to everyone who has helped me on this forum with all those obscure questions regarding my Peugeot, you have been a load of help. You have pointed me in the direction of Great Pug mechanics and given me all kinds of valuable advice.

I have also enjoyed meeting a lot of you

Congrats on the new car! Hang around the motorsport forum too - we can keep the A1 GP thread alive!

It's a bit sad to say goodbye to a friend - but it's time to move on from all things eventually.

Hi guys. Yeah it's sad to say bye to the pug, it was such a fun car. But so is my new one

I took a few pics of my new ride today. It's got a hot exhuast, so it almost sounds as FULLY SICK as what my Pug 206 sounded

btw, mods please move this to the pond if it's not right for froggy forum.

My AussieFrogs sticker got taken off my pug and stuck to the back of my old mans 1973 PorscheRS so the froggy spirit will live in a car that handles well

Looks like a sweet ride - I've always been partial to the E36 BMW's. To me it's the classic 3 series.

Re: the sticker on the Porsche - are you saying that the Bimmer doesnt handle well?

na the BMER Handles great! it's got the M sports suspension pack, I took the sticker off my pug a few days before I sold it, I didn't have my BMER then, so I stuck it on the Porsche

Thanks, yeah I like the E36 too. It's actually 12 years old!

Gawd - 12 years old - certainly doesnt look it. Time has treated the E36 well. I wonder if we'll be saying the same about Chris Bangles efforts in 10 years time.. The clear front indicators of the M series would look cool on it IMHO

    thanks dudes.

Rusty The difference on the trade-in on my Peugeot and the BMW was less then $11,000

Yeah, clear indicators have been suggested by several people it will be one of the first things I do

yeah for a 12 year old car it is in good nick and not too high a mileage.

Congrats on that, it looks really good. My mum has a E36 328 and it is a great car to drive. As good as the frogs are, you've gotta love the extra grunt and refinement of the BM.

Mums seems to sit a little lower than yours though... Even though i think it has the same suspention. I think i have a couple of pics of that somewhere. (excuse the crappy quality.)

Well done NBJ, seems to me the froggy spirit is still strong. It's been an unsual week, some frogs go, some come back.
Some get frogs, some get wanabe frogs hehe... but a BM is a nice substitute. I'm with Kyle, the 7-series copies do wonders for it. - Chris

    nbj,

So how fast would it be? 0-100kmph 0-400m

Interested how fast that thing would go, by the looks of it, seems a weapon, (under the bonnet of course, nice subtle looks on the outside)

    rusty not really sure mate

I didn't buy it as a drag car. If I wanted a drag car I could have got something that would go from 0-100 in half the time and for the same price, but wouldn't handle or drive as well or be as reliable or look as nice, it would be jap, etc...

I think it does 0-100km/h in about 7.5 - 8.0 seconds though. It's had a few little mods, but mostly stock. The engine needs a good tune up though which I am doing soon. It pulls very hard in 2nd gear (up to about 110km/h) it's got a bucket load of torque that doesn't seem to appear untill after 4,00rpm

The 2.5L engine and induction note is very nice though, I would argue one of the best sounding straight sixes around. Combined with it's exhaust sounds pretty nice. I may remove the exhaust though and put on an M3 exhuast, it feels like it is losing back pressure, and I think the previous owner valued noise over performance. I am the opposite, so I think a new exhaust is the first thing I will do.

Very nice Beemer...love the wheels. IMO the E36 body shape is the nicest for the 3 series. Dreaming of an E36 M3 one day when I have the dough...power with handling and seating comfort for 4..cant do that in my 928
