Default Car wash cafe's...anyone had damage done?

    Hey all...

I've had some damage done to the drivers door on my car. Now i am 100% positive that it happened there. I went back this afternoon to speak to someone about it, and they say that there's really nowhere that it could have happened, as there's plenty of spacing between the cars and everything around. But they took my details and the manager will get back to me on monday.

Has anyone else experienced this? and if so what did you do about it? What was the outcome?

I fear that I will have almost no leg to stand on....

Despite your problems, that is the best laugh I have had all day.

Did you get details of the Manager's name and did they specify which Monday you will be contacted.

I think you are right though, unless you noticed the damage right there and then when you went back to the car, you are up the proverbial creek.

Well, i've had other damage done.....

Parked at the shopping center (note this is the same day after getting my C4 professionally detailed).

So i'm gone for about 30 minutes, i come back... what do i see... someone has put coke (drink) all over my car.... on the roof, on the sides, the bonnet etc...

On purpose obviously.. This is after spending $160 on a full detail... i just wonder sometimes, what is the world coming to?

It was probably some Pug owner

You Citroen owners should have a bex and a lie down, are you all tools or does it just grow on you?

Heartily sick of having to put up with citroen owners rejustifying their existance.

    Default My apologies Kyle!

My apologies Kyle, I do hope that you have some progress with these people it is disheartening to suffer damage and not be able to get satisfaction, like the person who damaged the mirror on one of my cars, could have been worse I suppose and probably an accident, I can only hope like Di say's that karma gets them back for both of US

Its almost like a tax for living in the city

Jo I understand what you are saying, but that doesn't always apply, see what Vanderaj puts in to detailing a car - no wonder those cits that turn up at Melbourne meets look so pretty. Worth taking a copy for future reference IMHO.

I don't understand ? I'm a Pug owner and actually have a soft spot for the Cit's. I've even promised myself a DS when I win the lotto, (highly unlikely but the promise stands). The thought of doing this to any car, where ever it was made wouldn't even cross my mind.
"Vive la differance" tranlates to "cheers to variety" in my book!

More probably it was the detailing mob as they stand to extract more cash.
My guess is it was just some kid trying to impress his mates.

Shopping centre carparks - the most dangerous place for any car !

hehe, i was just joking. Some inter rivarly between Cit - Peugeot owners is a good thing

However, we must remain united against the tyrannical forces of oppression and evil... (Japanese manufacturers and their minions - Alan used to be one, but he's been freed from their claws)

How much does the regular car wash cafe charge for an external wash + polish?

A damn sight less than $160 for a "professionally detailed" brand new car, I'd say.

I had my passenger side mirror knocked off my 306 Xsi in a carwash once. The owner wasn't particularly receptive as there is of course a disclaimer at the carwash. I went to Mobil directly given it was a Mobil servo. It was replaced within a week. Keep agitating if you beleive the damage occurred there, as most people will go away once they get pushback and that's what the car wash will want you to do.

Personally I'd never use a car wash with all those rollers and wipey things.
A mate of mine used one every month for a few years and it ended up
wrecking his paint job. Minute scratches all over it, almost made it look
    like a matt paint finish.

It takes me less than 20 minutes to wash and wipe down the Clio and costs
    only a few cents.

    cheers,

Don't write it off, get back on his case. He went to sleep last night dreaming about you letting this thing go.

You seem genuinely convinced that the damage occurred there. So, if the manager doesn't provide you with a satisfactory answer, talk to his boss, then his bosses boss.

The owner of a business often tends to care more about reputation than (just) the manager. If you can demonstrate that you are genuine, and not just out for a quick $ hit, I would hope that they would come in some way to the party.

Keep a quick note of every communication that you have with the business i.e. who, when, what they promised to do. Comes in valuable down the track. (Speaking from experience of a 9 month battle with Telstra ending with an apology and cheque from Ziggy, the then CEO.)

    Cheers

I've had an antenna knocked off by one. They replaced it without too much fuss.

I agree, it probably was one of us. Afterall, we do want our Cit' owning brethren to feel comfortable in their cars..and there's nothing quite as comforting and familiar as a crappy looking Cit'.

In the 20-plus years I've had cars I've only ever had a car washed by someone else on 2 occasions. Both times by the same main dealer (in the UK) and only because I forgot to tell them not to when it went in for service.

Both times the roof was scratched their car wash and even though I complained asap I couldn't prove that the damage wasn't there before - it wasn't.

The second time I totally lost it when the guy refused to admit it. The stupid thing was all I wanted was an apology. Even if they'd offered to fix it, I wouldn't have let them anywhere near my car again. I polished as much out as possible with Autoglym resin polish.
