    Default Froggy service problems

I am surprised at the number of complaints about service on all makes of Froggy cars though perhaps I shouldn't be.

Back in the days -won't say old days- of 203s to 504 and 505s, Dauphines, R8, 10, 12 and 16s, Simca etc the dealerships were involved with sales and service staff cpmpeting at least at club level in racing, trials, gymkhanas etc.
In Perth there was Maison Motors later to become Eurocars, Dependable Motors, Wentworth etc. and service was never a problem.
Now with auto technicians and 3 minute apprenticeships plus no personal involvement with clients something definitely has been lost.
The service staff probably drive Hyundis and think they are great cars.

I love my Pug. Best car in my opinion. However the service I have received has left alot to be desired.

During the purchasing of my car I noticed the Finance girl at the dealership had a VW picture as her desktop. I told her off saying that it should be a pug. She laughed and I told her I was serious.

I don't think dealers give a rats ass about service.

    Default Froggy service problems.

Back in the dark days when I was a wage slave I recall the govt. of the day brought in a scheme where companies had to contribute to training.
Anxiously all of us workshop grubs looked forward to the expected out come.
In the meantime we noticed that the sales staff were attending frequent junkets to the east, mainly for model releases etc. Nothing ever came our way.
Apprenticeships also fell off. I asked the service manager why this was so?
His reply was that they cost the company too much. My reply to this was "Bullshit". Backing this up with the statement that for the first 12 months the company got a cheap cleaner, gofer and customer pick up person. Otherwise they would have to employ someone to do this or have productive mechanics disrupted during the day.

I see where your problem was. You tried to use logic in an argument with management...
