    Default Another bloody website question

    G'day Guys,

As you probably know I do the website for the RCCV.

It has recently been refreshed and the format seems to be fine except for an issue with the heading font size/type which has now been resolved.

When I was resolving that issue, I threw around a couple of ideas and I really quite liked one in particular as IMO it made the site look a bit cleaner and was a bit different from the norm whilst also alowing a bit of flexibilty with different sizes of cube for sub headings etc..

    Which do you guys prefer:

    Current Site with 'tabs'
    or
    Alternate site 'cubes'

I reckon the way it is now is fine. Actually it's better than that - for a club it is amazing...

    Cubes for me

appears better (not so cluttered???), but aren't both styles 'cubes' when you go beyond the home page?

The rest of the site is still as it was (with the long heading tabs)

The cubes are only on the one page...

I also think it looks a bit cleaner but I'll see what the consensus is before I do anything else...

I like the cubes, a cleaner more open look, invites you to read the article without the visual barrier of the lines,

    The cubes look better.

Which CMS software are you using? I ask because the CCC of NSW web site is currently being considered for rebuilding and we are looking at various CMS software.

    Go for the cubes.

Can I just say, you're doing a fantastic job with the website - keep up the good work!

The PCCV could do with some work like that!

    Cubes for me mistareno.

    Another distractive element removed.

You could effectively use the cube in two dimension to further simplify without losing impact and aiding clarity.

Yeah, but that would be too easy

You have no idea how long it took to draw that stupid cube (in a much bigger scale obviously - for further use in later...)

What programs do people here use for image creation?

I have Photoshop but have never tried to use it as I know Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 fairly well...

Everything I do is in vectors then converted if need be, therefore Illustrator is my weapon of choice.

Yeah, same here. I save the master as a layered Vector and then resize/manipulate from there as required....
