    Default Good bargain Xsara?

    Cheapest one I've yet seen.
Looks like a bargain buy for the quick. Xsara for urgent sale

Anybody knows the car or takes a peak at it, post a report. Too good to let get away.

If it ain't broke, use a 12" shifter.....that usually does the trick!!

I don't know the car, but seeing as though it has been advertised for a while (more than 2 months now), it looks like they're just trying to sell it before the rego runs out.

It looks like a reasonable buy from the outside. That is so cheap for basically a newish car.
I just find the black interior and dashboard a bit boring.

Price looks right but urgent sale reasons may be for the rash buyer
    Depreciation would have to be checked against Red book value guide ;
    [url]http://www.redbook.com.au/
    1999 CITROEN XSARA
    Hatchback 5dr Man 5sp 1.8i
    average kms 110,000 - 130,000
    Trade in price guide* $6,400 - $8,100
    National average price - private sale* $7,700 - $9,900
    Price when new (RRP) $28,490
all prices quoted are GST inclusive

    Of minor interest, but just to compare S/H prices;
2000 Holden Commodore Acclaim VT II
    Blue 4dr Sedan Automatic 6cyl 3.8L

    Immaculate condition, 11mnth. reg.full service history $9,999
    dandenong
    VIC
Cheaper new cars= plummeting S/H prices. Consume and recycle, do it now

I suppose if you use Redbook on one and an advert on the other, you can also get this result:

    Citroen Xsara
    YEAR: 2000
    ODOMETER: 114,275kms
    PRICE: $12,995.00
    GEARS: 5
    BODY: 5 door hatchback
    COLOUR: SILVER
    TRANSMISSION: 5 speed manual
    ENGINE: 1.8 litre 4cyl
    FUEL Petrol
    CONDITION: Excellent Condition
ABS, air conditioning, CD player, central locking, drivers airbag, electronic fuel injection, power steering, power windows, road worthy condition.
Either way it still makes it look like a good buy and if the going overseas is genuine, only a mug would knock it on unfounded cynical suspicions.

    Gavin,
you might want to edit that link out. I've just had a look at Red Book's home page (having previously clicked on the link) and under the legal terms they don't permit links to other than their home page. FYI anyway.

Apart from which, their valuations appear to be "interesting"...I had better not say anymore, as per the aforementioned terms!

    Regards,
    Brett

Brett, now that you mention it; (the standard boilerplate of the redbook site), adjustment made. Glad you found it interesting.
Not sure if I'm being trolled but..
As for “Good bargain Xsara” and “Looks like a bargain buy for the quick.” I live only 20km from the cars listed address and am unable to confirm the condition of the vehicle to verify if it is good, from interstate? That must be hard to say without an inspection and test drive as a minimum.
Lets share the knowledge and leave the psychic stuff for other forums, I suspect some of the Aussie frog members may not be aware of the redbook site as a resource for checking values of cars to sell or buy.
Talk of depreciation with examples from the same web site as the Xsara, seems valid to me, using vehicles of similar age to confirm that the depreciation of the Xsara is not extraordinary that’s my view with some evidence.
    Cheers
