    Default Stolen 504

Stolen last night south of Hobart in the Huon Valley. It is a tatty white 504 sedan with 2 baby seats in the back. It has a set of distinctive 14'' mags on it. Please let me know if sighted. Not mine but a friends.

Found, by the Police straddling a culvert in the mountains after some joyriders had some fun. A VT was also stolen later in the evening and it was torched. We were lucky. Bumpers torn off, most panels softly dented etc but it is intact and still usable with a day of TLC.

    Did they catch the villains?

If not, run an ad... they'll be so impressed with 504s now they'll come looking to buy one. Nab them then!

504's and 505's to a certain degree are sourced for parts and sent overseas

in England at the height of it all the cost to insure a 505 went through the roof as they were bieng stolen out of peoples driveways

don't worry, if you haven't heard about in QLD you will soon enough

It's been happening in Queensland for a long time...

Not necessarily the stealing, but cars bought for export. I chastised a wrecker in Murwillumbah when he told me that all the Pugs her got he just rang the exporters...

"And your regular customers," I said to him, "what about them?"

A VT was also stolen..... and later torched.........

After getting peed off with the bummadore and torching it.. It's a wonder they didnt come back for your 504 after realising it was the better of the two

    You were lucky..

    Default Not only Pugs

It is not only our dear Peugeots that are shipped to the Mid East. I sold my Toyota Corolla Wagon the other week to a bloke who originated from Pakistan, he said after having bought the car that it would be fixed a bit, shipped to Iran and driven over to Afghanistan where they are favoured.
Peugeots are bought aas well but there are not many of the 504s and 505s left here for them to buy. They are collector's cars now. My

I don't think I'd drive a Pug with its steering lock broken... no way!

I don't think it could be broken anyway...

Good question. Apparently old Nissans (also from wreckers) are being shipped out of Europe to Africa.

Maybe it's largely a 'parts cars' market to keep old junkpiles running and avoid having to buy new cars?

I'd be happy to supply them with these things... I can find them on an hourly basis wherever I go...

    Do they want any Valiants?

    Ray,

I'm sure Valiants have the unique distinction of being ban from export around the globe.

Considering their famed ability to manouve "off road", even covertly shipping these to the middle-east would surely lead to greater unrest and make the task of those working towards world peace significantly more difficult.

Age will not weary them, but they will surely continue to rust.....

Ray looks like you carry your didgi everywhere you go.
A good idea, as I do mine, in my line of work I get to see a lot of properties, and find it hard to remember when someone askes "have you seen a ...... on your travels?" If I have I would most likely have a shot of it, joging my memory.

I snap anything I think unusual or sort after from an old abandoned school house, Caulderwood Road Muttama, to lines of farm junk (before the scrappy's get it) at Wambat.

    Keep snappin,

    Cooch

samr thing down here.i saked a pug mechanic who had a couple of 504;s out the back if he'd sell me one.
his reaction-why should i sell one here in oz when everybody just hassles me for a cheaper price.
at least the egyptians pay cash no questions asked.
shows you where his priorities lie.-BAZZ

There are no Peugeots left at Pick a Part, just the spaces where they were!
I have just woken up to where they have gone!
Seems like it would be good idea to buy a 505 or two, parts may be getting scarse in the future.
