If I've got the right colour, it's probably a post 1971 vehicle.

Gee we're getting clever when we know the correct colour name AND the code that goes with it! I hope we see you and your car at the Battle of Waterloo on the 19th.

It was good weather for frogs on the weekend with lots turning out for the Battle of Waterloo on the lawns of Old Parliament House in Canberra.

I've scanned the article from the local rag, which I can't manage to upload here, so PM me with your email address if you want a copy. (Michael this means you.)

Thanks to all who travelled from regions far flung. It was nice for Sophie to catch up with her long lost cousins.

Finally, special thanks to the organisers, Lisa and Mike (but I guess there were others) - who seemed far too busy to be having much fun!

I've been busted! My allegiance to the Citroen brand has been recorded on Page 4 of the Canberra Times!

This was my first event so despite the weather, I had a top weekend! Plenty of folk to have Citroen chats with and it was good to let the D loose on the open road. I steamed past 90% of all the cars I saw heading down to Canberra !

Paul - Nice to put a face to a screen name. And thanks heaps for scanning the article for me !
    Cheers,
    Michael

    Default Nice People Drive Cits

The white CX (mentioned higher in the thread) let me into his lane today, even though I was driving a Ford. (Hope you didn't forget to turn off your driving lights!)

Moments later a gold Xantia stopped to let me cross the road (on foot).

I have spotted a black 180 coming from the Gunghalin direction!! Anyone owning up??

My car's off the road due to a bent steering rod trying to avoid an accident (someone pulling out in front of me) hopefully I'll be back on the road!!

Need to get the gold back out there!!

Ouch looks like you really got the raw end of the deal there!! Does your car drive as well as it did.. ie did you notice any difference when you got it back? Ooh noticed scratched BBS wheel too .... I think I would have cried if that was my car!!

Everything that I know has happened is Traction control now not functioning (somehow turned itself off), bent steering rod, blown tyre, allignment well out, and the wheel is not tracking in the right direction. I suspect that there has been some suspension damage as well. Apparently I'll get a call today telling me if it can be repaired, or if it has to be written off.

Hope insurance just do whatever they have to soon, hurting sooo very badly at them moment driving a Camry Boat from Hertz. And it's a baby blue one!! At least I have a car to drive i suppose.

Sorry, off topic but... Who did the repairs on the suspension? I take it, you were happy with the job, i.e. it's back to original handling again? It's always a worry with suspension related accidents that your car will never be the same.

OOOPs, Caleb posted at same time.

I often see a blue 180 around Civic, usually turning left onto Northbourne from Bunda St. Has the "Lexus rear Lights" and exhaust and he doesn't wave - anyone?

Revell in Fyshwick did the repairs. Did a thorough job. Made sure all new bits came in. The bits that bent were the subframe and the wishbone, and the subframe only was damaged on the knuckles. Yep, steers nice and straight again. No chassis damage, apparently. I asked them to check on several occasions. I would go to either Revell or Inline. Going to Inline today for allignment.

You would cry? I did. It was a week after VW did a photoshoot with my car and the MkV GTI for their corporate mag. I was most sad. It took 5-6 weeks to get back to me, too....

I think the left side feels a bit taughter than the right, but since I had my off a few weeks ago in the wet, the left side feels a bit stodgy. Joel could back that up... BBS are repeired, and still looking sweet. Balanced up fine.

I hated waiting. Hope your insurance guys get a move on. Feel your pain...

    That's terrible news, Rusty

I'd guess the traction control problem is because the ABS wheel sensor is probably stuffed.
