Default Those chrome "eyelids" for round headlights...

Ok, I know this is approaching "ricey" but I would like a set of these things for my car. Chrome eyelids that fit across the top fifth or so of a round headlight, they make the headlights look cool I reckon! Often you see hotrods and that sort of thing wearing them.

I have never seen these in the shops; where can I get them? And would they fit on my headlights which don't have a curved face but are almost flat?

Do you mean sticking out like a metal peak, or adhesive to the lens? If it's the former, these were a 60's period accessory - the 60's equivalent of 'rice', I suppose.

No, not the peaked ones you see on Beetles etc. They're a new thing I think. Imagine a round headlight with a curved face, and the top fifth or so is chrome. You can see a reflection of the sky in it, from a distance it actually makes it look like the whole headlight is chromed.

Approaching ricey??? I'm wondering whether you're one of those guys who has a subscription to Hot 4s because you don't want to get caught buying it...

Wonder no more! You won't catch me with a copy of Hot 4s.

I know these headlight things are ricey, but they still look cool!

Ok, I found a place on the net that sells them. Click here.

But it looks like this place doesn't have the size I need.

i'm pretty sure its a PT Cruiser i did a googlr image search and found it on http://www.californiacruisers.com

Edit: i'm pretty sure that if you showed someone who can work with metal what you want, that they could fabricate something for you, if you couldn't find what you wanted.

John, your car looks bloody great the way it is. Don't do it!

Incidentally, I just read that the guy that styled the Ferrari Dino prototipo was the same guy that designed the 504's body - Aldo Brovarone. A bit of trivia, and an interesting connection there.

Heh heh, don't worry Stuey, I'm not gonna do anything that will ruin THE 504's appearance!

Just looked at the site, wonder if those accessories like covers and spinners are streel legal? Don't the covers obstruct or cast shadows on the beams?

Ok, here's a car with the chrome headlights. In the pic it looks like the whole headlight is chrome, but it's actually only a eyebrow over the top quarter or so.

    Looks rather cool, yes??

    Hi,

Only last week I saw a set in the counter showcase at "Woodsies" in Harold St. Dianella, Western Australia. Suggest you ring and speak with John, who I am sure would oblige you with the size of that set.

    Panhard,
You and I would remember from the good old bad old days that those hoods were called "Disembowellers". Along with the bottle opener bumper bolt they were the "bling" of the day!
