wether you like it or not the BX is a very stylish car...you can not like or not like a car based upon the colour alone.....
Study its detail and its proportions.....The BX is very sensibly designed and demands respect for its integrity....
I m a big fan of any product that as a whole presents with style and flare....ie each individual component is designed to integrate and be a part of a whole that carries its own identity.....So I think you are wrong about the BX (yes I know taste is personal)....there is much more to it than meets the eye....

    cheers

    C2 is nice....

I dunno, the BX looks like a car whose designer did work experience in the Tupperware factory!

The French Ford 4-cyl, probably... sort of a French Prefect...

You catch a glimpse of one in Mrs 'arris Goes to Paris, an Angela Lansbury film with some very nice period French backgrounds.

But really, do we need all this negativity?

    And isn't a C2 a Peugeot gearbox?

I think for me, its those billions of Citroen... errr can't rememebr but small hatchback that was made in China, and use as taxis for a decade and more. Only recently are they sort of going out of date in terms of usage... they are the worst...

    What a strange thread!

Asking about the worst (not 'worse'!) French car, then all the discussion is about appearances!

How can you do that? If nothing else, the French have proved over and over again that appearances are the least of a car's attributes...

I was of the understanding that the 2cv was the worst/ugliest french car

    ORIGINAL POST:

For me it is the ugliest car ever made : The BX

It makes me sick when I see one. It is awfull, not particulary well made either and smell of old people...!

I mean look at that :

RAY...as you can see...it was the original poster that mentioned APPEARANCE first ie BX is ugly......Whats included is picture of a bx in probably not the most
complimentary colour with dubious taste stripes.....A bit like showing us a picture of a poo brown 406 coupe and then saying its ugly...hence my comment about not being able to judge a car by its colour.....realllly....more a stir than anything...

Appearance is very important IMO.....so no matter wether its french or not some people just can not see style if they tripped over it...
Lets see....People (with good taste) WILL tell you the 306 is WAAAAY much more stylishhh than a 307.....If you think otherwise.....well thats fine....307 is "nice n all" but that doesn t mean you can possibly be qualified to make comments on the BX......
Hell....imagine that....a volvo 240 vs BX...... funny stuff even though the volvo admittedly has certain character itself....Now ask yourself : "which one really smells like old people "....... Original post although entertaining with potential to be much more was much 2 childish and silly to be taken seriously....... Funny stuff nevertheless..........

    cheers

Strange, when you think about it, the other Swede from Trollhattan is shaped a bit like a shoe.

    Yep, cute as a button...

I do have a C2 gearbox, however, and I reckon they're a handy thing. Made from 1954 to 1959, AFAIK. Then came the C3... which opens up another can of worms, I suppose.

As for the issue being the aesthetics, I was going on the title of the thread, not the content of the first post.

Change it to 'worse looking' and I'm happy with that.

Why would he change it? ....Appearance is an important elementary measure to many regarding how good or bad a car is.....wether their taste is similar to yours is irrelevant.....wether their thinking is rational or not is also irelevant......I for one value "good" design from both the mechanical component perspective to the style and size/function of external mirrors for eg.....etc etc..... Nice detailing makes a difference.....being able to recognise and appriciate these details beyond the choice of colour is whats required.....

    cheers
