    Default Tax by the mile

Just browsing the 'net and found this interesting read regarding possible future tax implications of petrol saving Hybrids.

Looks like we have to get rid of a sinecured bureaucracy to reduce the cost of running a country

Read the whole thread. They start justifying their love of SUV's and the fact that they will pretty much "win" any crash because they are bigger...

Quite amusing really in a really neanderthalic kinda way..

oooga booga - my stick is bigger...me kill you...

One redneck states proudly "I get 12MPG on my Expedition SUV, and usually ride with the family, rarely is it empty... you cannot really put 5 people in many compact and sub-compacts comfortably. If we assume families with kids disproportionaly use SUV's and Mini-Vans... and the occupancy is a bit higher than average, the MPG per person may not be as bad as the MPG per vehicle for families which have these vehicles"

Obviously vehicles such as Scenic's are not available...

Hell, even a Falcon gets 12L/100 (about 27 mpg)

Don't forget American Gallons are smaller so it's not as bad as it seems.
