    Default Kiwi Froggies

    Good afternoon,

Since I am departing sunny lovely Brisbane Queensland for wet lovely Auckland New Zealand, I was just wondering how many other kiwi frogs do we have on here and what do you all drive? I;m looking at buying a 306 0r 406 for work and of course a 205 gti (modified to buggery) for pleasure.

    Cheers Nick Watson

    What's happening here?

David McBean has deserted us for the Shaky Isles, though he's gone to Christchurch.

Are you blokes planning on getting the good looking Kiwi women before they emigrate to the Lucky Country?

    Oh, don't worry about me...

It's the next Kiwi woman you come across who has looked at this thread. Not many, I must admit... but there's always that chance!

A girl who puts the right inflections on 'ch'psit'...

The ultimate Kiwi word, I tell you... and stop putting the 'u' into words, they do not pronounce a sound where there is supposed to be an 'i', so you can't put a 'u' in there and get it right.

    'f'sh end ch'ps'... right? Cetch the l'ft.

briz205: I'm over here in Auckland. Driving a 1990 405 SRi at the moment.

Plenty of cheap Peugeots here, compared to Australia anyway.

Make sure you take advantage of the proper UK-spec 205s we have out here. Although in saying that we have had many Japanese imports come in with the low-compression 1.9, 14" wheels etc but these command lower prices.

As far as workshops in Auckland go I would recommend either

    Greg Kent Automotive or
    AutoFrance.

Lately I have been going to Greg Kent Automotive as these guys ran the dealer workshop in the early 90s and after being shafted by the dealer went onto setup their own workshop, taking all their customers with them. They're pretty friendly and know their stuff when it comes to modern Peugeots.

Hey, you're not allowed to take the good looking ones out of the country!

At least you'll need an export permit... for which you apply to me!

You think I'm ever going to issue a permit for him to do it?

    You're nuts if you do...

I never knew this thread would become so heated.... Yes my girl friend is very nice and 6 foot so I reckon she could stand up for herself in this argument. She is going to continue study architecture at Auckland uni so she is looking forward to the adventure.

    What do you reckon, folks?

Sool Amanda Vanstone on her... or give her a two-year visa that implodes when she finishes the course?

You have responsibilities to those in Australia who have been your friends, Briz... unless you swear to return with four extra women, there will be dire consequences!

You will have lots of fun over there. I have been living here for a few years but get back on a very regular basis. The driving can be superb, especially the south island but be very weary of police...
There are indeed plenty of interesting french cars around. When I was over a couple of weeks ago I saw a Renault 2 turbo (mid engined group B rally homologation special) sitting at the workshop where I was picking up my newly blasted and repainted Fulvia subframe..
Renault Clio V6's are imported into NZ, as were all sorts of renaults, peugeots and citroens that never made it to Aus, both sporting models, and diesels.
I also happened to see some Renaults being driven in a very enthusiastic fashion at a Gymkhana at the Ellerslie Concourse the weekend before last, very impressive car control with some nice sideways action in a rear drive 10?
Auckland Architecture School was where I studied, and although things change depending on staff it was superb. My wife, also an architect has tutored here at UTS, UNSW, and Sydney, and rates the Auckland School better than those.
Good Luck, and watch out for the stupid give way when turning left law...

seeing as you are taking an aussie girl over it can only improve the breeding stock on the little island

just make sure she doesn't get that strange accent happening
