Assuming it is the 60deg V6 as seen in 406s and other models I don't think handling would be affected that badly.

I remember reading that the alloy V6 is similar in weight to the iron-block XU10 motor and these have appeared in 205's on several occasions without ruining the handling.

Got it from a UK site. Out of control conversion I reckon. I dunno if it would have the same punch as the 1.9, but by god the torque would be amazing.

Sweet jesus thats a full bonnet! I thought working on my 1.9 was a pain... changing the timing belt on that thing requires it to be dropped out (or doing anything else, by the looks of it).

Might be a tad nose heavy, with a bank so far forward, but it would make a real lary noise (for scaring people at traffic lights). V6'ey. Might get a good "shaker" effect too, albeit forward/backward.

Not quite as practical as an mi16 conversion, but bravo for doing it.

I'm prone to think the big piece of plastic that looks like it belongs to a V6 covering the whole engine bay could be just that, a big piece of plastic. On the other hand, the shocker tower brace strut could really be there to stop their tops touching under the weight of an engine and gearbox just a little too big!

I would be interesting what the traction would be like. However they did look like might wide tyres.

I think i'd rather go the turbo option rather than the pain the a$$ shoe horning conversion route.

Someone else earlier had the idea to re-power something small with something big:

Harry Lefoe's Ford V8 powered Hillman Imp at Oran Park in about 1971. Check out the bags!
