Aussiefrogs turns 5 (that's fifty in frog years) on the 26th January 2005

Happy Birthday to us.... Happy Birthday to us....

Time to thank our fearless leader Gibgib, who had this great idea 5 years ago (imagine a time when the inernet was just starting to take hold), a website to bring together French car enthusiasts, owners, and those that maybe aspired to the French marques, a place where as a minority group in Australia we could get together and share our knowledge, support, and encourage one another. More than an idea Gibgib turned it into a reality.

The site has been a great success, as can be witnessed by the number of regular contributors. You, as Aussiefrog members can give yourselves a big pat on the back, without you Aussiefrogs would have died long ago - thank you.

A big thank you too, to our moderators, much goes on behind the scenes to keep Aussiefrogs on it's intended path, and, at the same time, keep this a friendly place to be. Yes, sometimes walking a razor edge to maintain harmony, cheers guys.

A big thank you too, goes to DSCI for hosting the site, cheers Mark.

I've had a ball, probably spent more time here than is healthy, made some good lasting friends - got off my butt to see some fine and rare French vehicles at various AF events. I've learned so much, not the least being the enjoyment of my own fleet, with the added comfort of knowing help in the form of parts, advice and/or encouragement, is only a post away.

Three cheers for Gibgib.... hip hip.... hip hip..... hip hip....

    Cheers
    Chris

    Happy 5th AF

I haven't been here long, but already the information I've gathered - not to mention the money I've saved - has been incalculable. No doubt I'll be needing you all for quite a bit longer.

    Happy Birthday AF!

No matter which way you wanna put it, congratulations to all involved and here's to many more years on AF.

I can't wait for this Sunday's BBQ...will be fantastic to see everyone. And this BBQ just shows how good this community is. That we already have a confirmed 50 people to come along on the day, not to mention others who may turn up unconfirmed.

Maybe we should organise a cake for the BBQ people? Help celebrate the occassion? You know what? I think we will! Done, i've put it on the list.

    Well done everyone! SEE YA!

    Yes, indeed.

    Happy Birthday, AF.

So what did everyone do to celebrate the day (besides eating lamb, of course)?

I met up with some fellow froggies at the NRMA Motorfest in Sydney, which had a decidedly poor showing of Pugs, but quite an impressive array of Cits and Renaults. Heck, there were even a few Simcas.

All in all it was a great day - it turned out to be very engaging

    Happy AussieFrogs day

It's good to see a online forum like this where we can all discuss issues, questions, or just orgainse meet ups with other intelligent people who like us own or aspire to owning froggies.

Congrats to the guys who started this and thanks!

    Default Congratulations AF

I second Greenblood, 3 cheers for Gibgib.

I've enjoyed many hours here, reading others views and experiences,{as I am sure many more have} and hope to spend many many more in the years to come. I've sold a few things and bought a couple too, and had good advice also.
    Thanks Gibgib.

    Cheers Chris.
