Congrats on the purchase, Brad! You'll have to tell me where abouts you bought, I'm looking to buy an apartment to live in in the next six months... if I'm not in jail for killing some clients.

Rich, thought you were the one who died, haven't heard from you in ages.

We bought in Robertson St, Valley. Right up near Brunswick Street.

Yah, been a bit like that... might have to gather for some beers and pool at GPO or something soon. Work's been nuts and had to have the gearbox in the 180 fixed (replace 1st and 2nd gear and synchro assembly, hence the reason I was a no show last Friday and my sister has the S16 up the coast at the moment).

Robertson Street, wow, you can fall out of bed and be at work! Nice!

BTW, now you've cleared that up, if you get a parcel from Aussiefrogs admin & mods.................DON'T OPEN IT!!!

BTW, looked at anything decent yet? Probably not the best time to get vatiety just before Xmas but often a chance to buy one at the right price.....and when I say "decent" I mean French.
If it ain't broke, use a 12" shifter.....that usually does the trick!!

Just after Christmas is the time to buy...

People have spent their spare shillings wastefully, blown their holiday pay, much less competition.

And with the dealers, it's their quiet month and they're keen to get a sale or two.

You do know the corolla you are considering is an inferior car to the ones I mentioned, buy a 20v powered sprinter- you said you had 5k thats why I suggested these, some of the listed cars would not be had for that price. Even a tx3 4wd is better for the money.

Il be back for sure Ray, still very keen on a clean gti6.

Shocks seem fine but may look into suspension in the new year, I want to change the the timing belt just to be safe.

Enjoy, Immy. Just don't go too big on the exhaust. They can sound GREAT with a proper, not too big exhaust...

Thanks for the heads up stuey, the car is all standard at the moment except for the wheels which are not to bad, no big plans for the car at this stage.

But I must say for a japanese chassis it doesnt handles pretty good
