Politics, Religion & current World affairs must be abstained from any posts due to the inflammatory nature of such discussions because of their potential to inadvertently create ill feelings between members.
Can I inquire as to how these rules we abide by here came about..

For a bunch of mature citizens, and members of the human race its seems a bit stifling that such acts have been taken to modulate us all in some sort of utopian seeking harmony???

As much as we would all like to talk about politics, I agree with the rule. We've got a great community feel here that can be ruined by various opinions on politics and religion. They always get out of hand. If in doubt, go over to offtopic.com or any large forum site like inthemix.com.au or fasterlouder.com.au (shameless plug, I know).

    bowie,

It's unfortunate, but that's how it is due to the past performances of other members...

Gets back to playing with matches and getting burnt with fires.
Take a look around; go to Northern Ireland & tell everyone you're a Catholic. The middle East & talk christianity and equal rights for women, parts of Asia and talk Civil liberties, Yankeeland and talk social responsibility, Australia and talk democracy as we used to know it...................then think; we have members on this board from all over the World; who do you want to insult first?

We might be mature citizens and members of the human race, but these days maturity isn't a sign of responsibility or stable mentality a prerequisite to running a country and by & large these days, the human race sucks! If you want any more proof of how people behave at political debates, go to one of the election rallys around the place or watch any debates on TV preferrably not the stage managed ones, for a prize example of people getting hot under the collar who posses a total lack of knowledge of what the issues are all about, the hidden agendas and the gullibility of electors to base a decision on more than bias or perception based on crooked media sources. It's frightening that our future can be controlled by the vote of so many listening to shock jocks and reading a self serving newspaper owner's propagnda and this hype & hysteria they generate makes discussing Politiics in particular an impossible task.
It also is really out of place on a car related forum unless it directly impacts on French cars and based on the honesty and openess of politicians over the years that will only become evident after an election not before it hence apart from the potential to do nothing more than create ill feeling, it was decided long ago to keep it off aussiefrogs and that's how it will stay.
