    Icon8 Responsible Display Driving

While the turnout at the FCD in Sydney was very good considering the rain (yes that wet stuff from the sky ), it is a pity the day was marred by a very poor display of vehicle control by the driver of a black Peugeot 206CC.

Why do I mention this here?

Well from what I saw it seems to be someone who was associated with AF cars.

To drive like this fool did on a wet grassed area with people and other vehicles around (and regular Police visits) was completely irresponsible! Whoever you are I hope you have been severely belted over the back of the head for being an idiot!!

Here are some driving tips for next time you are at a vehicle display:

1/ The handbrake should be released before you move off - it creates lot less drag
2/ You do not need to show people that your car can rev to over 4000 rpm as you pull away
3/ Drive like your child may walk from behind the cars you are driving past
4/ Your actions are a poor display to others around and may impact on the ability of the car club/s to hire the ground again in future!

Good, now I have had my rant.

Now on the other hand, thanks to all those who made the effort to turn up and display their vehicles. It really was an impressive turnout.

    Totally agree.

This knob needs an attitude adjustment.

Unfortunately I missed his little WRC display as I was taking a leak but I heard it all. I don't think the other Peugeot owners were happy about the mud and grass on their cars.

Otherwise it was a great day, apart from the weather! I got a ride in an Esprit Turbo and I got to drive Darrens immaculate GS. Both bloody nice!

    Craig

one thing you forgot to add was the car was also still cold whilst doing this stunt as well

i wonder if brain was released from the glovebox and re-inserted into head before this happened or maybe it was water logged from the rain

we nearly collected 2 cars on the road due to the idiots and water mixture

No he is not associated with any of the web forums.
I must apologise for his behaviour though as I invited him along as part of the CC contingent.

Mindless fun is not for an area where other people's cared for cars and the people themselves are within close proximity.

Mindless fun, if you must have it, is when you can be 100% sure that you are the only vehicle on a controlled ground and you are not going to collide with another vehicle or worse still a person. If it were a member of the CCC of NSW I think the committee would be obliged to take very rarely (if ever) used disciplinary action against them.

it is a real shame that someone has done something a single minded as this and to get a thread in the forum dedicated to their stupidity, but at every car meet there has to be the court jester and i guess this is the one...

It was good to meet you all today, or some of you, good show and some very nice cars.
oh, im the one with the black 206180

Wooohooo! We have his numberplate. It's 675 IFI by the look of it.
He's a Queenslander - typical hey? Pity the number plate doesn't have an NFI for No [email protected]*n Idea cos he's obviously a bit clueless.

How lovely to be publicly ridiculed and not even know it!
Thanks for putting up the post Craig (although I had heard about the incident from another source).

That's ok Maquered I'll forgive you this time The blue 6oh4 next to Pugrambos was mine.

Even with the rain yesterday it was a great day and there was an excellent turn out of cars. It was good to meet a few new AF's as well.

When I was showing my eldest boy who's 3, the Citroen's, he said 'Dad those cars are funny looking' in reference to the DS's. He did like the 2CV's though, cause they had 'eyes' and were wobbly cars.

It's okay, you can have him. We don't want him back.
