FYI: Bugis markets are in Victoria St opposite the Bugis station shopping Square. The best shop is way down the end on the right. Mama San is very good and sharp but most are fixed price but it still is fun to ask "what best price you give"? If you are buying in bulk the price will come down especially if you are friendly. There is also a very good eating area next to the Alison Hotel a block down from the markets.

There are also the Scott Wharf markets on Sundays for good cheap junk sale and old bits. Its on the river and an easy walk from the Canning Fort area

Bugis Street was the scene of many a raunchy night back in the '60's & '70s with all the trannies. Very nice "boys" too.

    "Ah mameries"

    Hope this helps.
