Icon11 Wedding cars with froggy flavour

Im in the process of planning a wedding and was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on transportation with a bit of French flair .

I have had a brief look around and did find a company using old Citroens but is this my only option???

    Daniel,

My parents had a few of the ultra modern (in 1972) Peugeot 504 for their wedding cars - they just asked around - family and friends - and people volunteered their cars.

Given you're a long-term Aussiefrogger, I'm sure if you were to decide upon a type of car you might find people would be willing to oblige

    Congrats by the way

    Derek

    Thanks,

504's sound very classy but I think something a bit more "ultra modern" would be better suited

I've been planning my wedding cars too. Was hoping for some pugs but it's not gonna happen.
I went into the local dealer and the guy I talked to said they could do it, but as to what cars, it would just be what was avail on the day, our weddings in March. Would have been quite nice with a couple of brand new 407s, but at the end of the day they arnt gonna pass up a sale just for a day rental for a wedding are they?
My bride to bewasnt having none of it! Gotta be booked and sorted, and the wedding is still 8 months away!
So we've gone with Jaguar XJ6s from the local Jag Club instead, my grandfather had a MkII then an XJ6, so it's keeping it in the family.

When I got married we had all pugs.

My father-in-laws 404 as the main wedding car. His 405 and my wifes 505 as the other cars.

Maybe you could put an ad the club magazine asking for cars.

    Good luck with it.

    Daniel,

I don't suppose you are a member of the Peugeot Car Club? They do this sort of thing quite often, I think. If you head over to the website here and go to the contacts page (up the top!), I think Anne Cosier might be a good starting point. It's certainly worth asking, even if you are not a member.

I'll be needing a bunch of pugs for a wedding next year also

    There's one 605 in the family, but I don't know where else I'd find 2 or 3 other 605s...

Some mint condition 604s would be very nice, as would some 607s..

Anyone in the eastern suburbs Victoria able to help around april next year?

Would you believe there was a couple in the Renault Club here in Qld who inlisted the help of the 4cv registar a few years back. Our club Pres at the time had an old MkIV Jaguar and the other cars were 4cv's .

    Looked great.

    Congrats on the wedding!

I'm sure I'm at least 10-15 years away from one, but no questions asked - its going to be DS's!

    DON'T DO IT.
You know how you have your things?
They will soon be 'our things'.
You know her things? They will still be hers.
You know how no man wants to go to a clothes shop until he has to...... this will change. But her thirst for trying on things will increase.
Just buy a nice car and go a bit funny about THAT instead.

Well, our wedding's tomorrow arvo, and instead of using poo-brown as originally intended we are going to use Dad's (RedPug) 505 STi - so stay tuned for some photos!

The 504 was shelved in the end as we decided that getting married and me starting a new job wasn't stressful enough, so we are buying a new house and selling my fiancee's unit! As the Vic government has decided we should give them $10,000 stamp duty for buying the new place (which we graciously give as we feel they deserve it) the restoration/registration plans for poor old poo-brown were put back. Imagine what ten grand could do for a 504...

I understand the guy who owns three Tractions for sale on e-bay runs a wedding car hire business that uses these cars.
If you're interested might be worth contacting him.

You could always drop the hard word on "Mort Subite"

After all, a driver in black top hat & tails has to be different at a wedding!!
