It is sad to hear of another purely classic French mechanic has gone in Brisbane. The stark reality is I guess, that as the number of older French cars and their owners disappear the call for a marque/model specific mechanic will also disappear. Supporting those still in business is paramount.

Now more than ever, it is important that everyone associated with this forum, band together and ensure it stays afloat. Without the old timers (No insult meant. I'm 62) and those willing to offer their advice and support maybe, just maybe there will be less classics around as time goes by.

    Cheers,

    Dano

Unfortunately this closer is due to health reasons. But yes, agree that marque specific mechanics are getting harder to find.

It's not just about the old classics, modern Euro cars are so unnecessarily complicated that we've bought many cars that the foolish owners have been taking to there local who charges them a fortune and doesn't fix it so the owner sells it out of frustration to a wrecker vowing never to have a French car again. Often we've fixed it before the tow truck has left the street.

Today, more than ever you should be supporting the specialist mechanic.
