Default Thinking of my CitroŽn friends in the other side of the globe

I wanted to say that I, and many others, have you all in our thoughts and prayers. May you stay safe, and please, lives are more important than cars, even these beloved ones.

Thanks Barry. I'm not in the fire zone, but I did see the burnt out hulk of a Peugeot 407 in the news footage. Double Chevron (from this forum) would probably have liked that.

Thanks for your thoughts, Barry. I think there are a lot of French car owners in Australia who would be more comfortable having their cars in Arizona at the moment.

In Arizona, you probably use the word "cactus" to describe a desert plant with spikes. In Australia, we use the word "cactus" to refer to something that has become useless. For example, a car with a destroyed engine would be termed "cactus". Similarly, you would describe your burned down house as "cactus".

So if under the current circumstances, you hear a lot of Australians using the word "cactus", it is not necessarily because they are yearning to visit Arizona.

My eyes are getting old but did I see a 2CV with a towbar in those photographs?
That's really got to be some wishful thinking at it's extreme. (Although an Isetta or Honda Z with a twobar would also be up there in the wishful thinking stakes)
