    Default Ghosn and US SEC

Mr Ghosn is in trouble with the US, https://www.drive.com.au/news/nissan...ampaign=tile-4

Huge fine, and banned from being a director.

Huge fine to us but a million bucks would be pocket change for Ghosn.
The 10 year ban might hurt but that probably only applies to US listed companies.
His immediate problem is he has to get out of Japan and with his trial not happening until next year that won't be any time soon, even if is is found to be innocent of the charges.

I guess also that the significant parts of that finding is that despite the allegations none of the money was paid out to Carlos Ghosn and the most significant paragraph may be...

All parties settled "without admitting or denying the SEC's allegations and findings".
    Clearing the way?

Any other time and there probably would have been a fight.
But with the main game being in Japan it would make sense to clear the US issue for a few million so all the attention could be focused on the Japanese charges.
And, as mentioned, there was no admission of guilt in the settlement.
