Well that rules out most people born after the 14th of February, 1966.

When decimal currency came in as a young lad I was disappointed to learn that a sixpence was only worth 5 cents and not 6 cents.

I remember the accountant guy who predicted the end of civilisation when ‘rounding’ was brought on by the ending of the 1&2 cent coins.

    Aviation security.

Around the late 60s we had the contract to fly the Time ‘plates’ from Essendon ap to Moorabbin ap for Wilkes printers in Clayton who were required to have the latest edition on the shelves ASAP.
You could walk from the light aircraft straight to the freight hold and simply wait to see the v large ‘envelope’ and just say that’s it and run back to the aircraft.
There was trust in those days but I still think I was pushing it.

I started my first job as a trainee engineer early in February 1966.
My contract was for 15 Guineas per week (15 Pound 15 Shillings for the uninitiated)(15/15/-).
But my first pay was in the new Dollars, about $31.50.

Easy for me to remember when decimal currency began (or, to remember when I started work!).

I'm feeling quite young now, as I was in grade two in 1966.

Gee, Graham you were well paid, my first year apprentice wage was $27.00 in 1974. Same trade.

I love those sort of people. They save all their pennies and then lend me a few quid. I will never save and they will never learn.

we used to do laps of the block in Shepparton on Sat nights (for about 3 hrs) chasing the girls. All for 40 cents of petrol in the Morrie Minor. Obviously, as we drove for 3 hours, we didn't catch many.

Were the girls on foot or bicycles? Trying to work out how slow the Morrie really was

Never let a chance go by eh....... I remember there seemed to be a lot more gaps in the traffic to take advantage of back in those days. Even when driving a Morrie Minor. (as I did also)

Ah, nostalgia. It ain't what it used to be.....
