Default Peugeot 205Gti Group B rally car

This genuine factory Group B 205Gti was on display in connection with the Rally of Finland. The car belongs to Juha Kankkunen. The article claimed that there are only around 10, genuine factory Goup B 205Gti's left.

Very nice. Not really a GTi, it is a Turbo 16.

Peugeot wanted to capitalise on the immense popularity of the 205, so they made the exterior resemble one. Under the skin, it bears very little resemblance to a production model.

I bumped into Juha in a Perth street outside his hotel back in the Rally Oz days. He was driving a Celica GT4 in the event. Ahh them were the days...

Yes, those were the definitive days with lots of manufacturers and lots of talented crew. Crew being the bloke with the wheel, the nutter with a book and the guys putting it all back together, several times.
