    Default "Howzit Boet ?"

Just about to move our 504 out of shopping centre car park when I heard a clipped accent voice that could have only been South African.
He..Would you sell that car? Me..What would I buy? He.. Nothing, nothing. Me..You are not kidding.
    .
As he walked off he offered a final. Nice car and you both look good in it.

Where from in SA? I lived in Hillbrow, Jo'Burg in 1976/78 after travelling from UK overland on the back of a ex British army Bedford truck (Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Zaire, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Rhodesia). Some of the names have changed since then.

Worked at Etkinds in Pritchard St, JoBurg as a photographic salesman. Best selling line to a well heeled customer "Do you want to take good photographs?" They would invariably say "Yes" as I handed them a Nikon F. [only older readers would know what I am talking about].

I traveled South Africa and went up to Namibia to the Etosha Pan for some game photography. Good memories of good times.

Further in the F lineage, my son has two FM's...not as pro as the above, but still a nice unit.

As a student I was limited to a Nikormat FT2 by lack of funds, last of the steelbodied Nikons I was led to believe.

I have gone digital with the D750
Any day I wake up and don't have to go to work, is a good day
