Default Interesting cars in Japan. Renaults !

    Hi
I was wasting some time looking at some thing on a Japanese car export auction site. So then I looked at the Renaults and found some interesting older cars which could be yours for not a lot of money to my eye.
Try these. (or find something interesting for yourself !)
    1988 Renault 4

    1960 Renault 750
    https://www.tradecarview.com/used_ca...32199/?isNew=1
    2001 Clio Sports V6
    https://www.tradecarview.com/used_ca...54887/?isNew=1
    1989 Renault Alpine

    Cheers Jaahn

    And the R4 has AC!
Don't think they're likely to break any speed records in the car though.

Oddly, the Alpine is the cheapest of the four and it's probably the rarest.

    Hi pugwash
Hmm that Clio V6 I guess suffers from being in the wrong market now. Old cars in Japan are not wanted there and it is an orphan anyway. Buy it !!
The 4CV has been slightly 'played with' by the look of it. Perhaps used as promotional vehicle. Who knows what it was supplied as or how it came to be there. Looks like dodgey brothers car yard Still could be a good car to buy. Go for it

    The "4CV" hasn't been played with, because it's a Hino Renault PA62.

    Hi neutral revolt
Well that's news to me. Thanks for the information and URL. It might also explain why the car has spider wheels for so late a model.
Its a bad day when you do not learn something new

When I was out in the Pacific there were some funny Jap imports there, nothing interesting, just selected I suspect for their cheapness because they were orphans and out on the islands they would drive anything till it fell apart. I can tell you that usually the Jap imports there, still had the original oil(sludge) in the motor and by all appearances had never been serviced at all.

The Hino Contessa was a development of the Renault 4CV with a Japanese twist and arrived at about the same time as the first R8.

I wonder what the Hino did for heating? Doesn't seem to have either types of Renault heating

Did anyone notice the back window on the Hino or the rear shockers mounting?

Since when has Subaru had a relationship with Renault? I think they might be confusing Renault with Subaru with this SVX!

There was a Hino dealer flogging Contessas in Newcastle whilst I was in the RAAF, way back in the sixties........
