I was introduced to it 15 years ago this month by Mark McKibbin.
In some ways, it seems like 100 years ago.
Happy Birthday and good work, gibgib.

Thank you gibgib. You should tell the ABC, because they seem to be confused as to why we celebrate Australia Day in the first place. Tell them we celebrate this day because it is the the day Aussie Frogs was created. We don't ask what sex our readers are and as long as they like sexy French cars, it doesn't matter where on the sexual alphabet they belong.

    gibgib,
I am sure I speak for many a Frogger when I say, thank you for your foresight to generate a website that has brought many French car loving tradgics together. Your on going support is brilliant.

We need to make 1 thing clear, for the last 5 years I have only kept the engine running.
It is with great thanks to Greenblood that the admin side & any arising issues are taken care of....
Thanks Chris for this dedication to Frogism

Then we have our moderators who do a fantastic collective effort of steering the AF barge through the sometimes murky waters

Congratulations to all who got it going and keep it going. We've had a few issues over the years - technically and personality wise, but the community has remained strong. I think one of the great things to come out of it is when you see posts on other forii refer to Aussiefrogs either with a link or just mentioning it. I think it's even been mentioned in publications such as "Citroenian" which is the monthly magazine of the CCC UK.

Then you do a google search for a solution to some issue with your Froggies and what are the first hits?....

We've lost too many great members and friends over the years, but their legacy lives on in their knowledge and experiences they left for us.

    Here's to our thirtieth!

    Icon14 Well done all,

Absolutely appreciative of all that has been done to keep A/F on line fore twenty years, and how young we were when we joined,

Much wonderful water under the bridge and so many friendships forged through the Forum, thanks to our Founder Gib Gib, loyal support from Admin and Moderators, to keep things ticking over through thick and thin, and within all that, thanks to all for help and assistance in the tradition of Aussie frogs, a pat on the back!

    thanks

    Ditto to all the above.

Looking forward to the next 20 years of Aussiefrogs and French car ownership.

You realise of course that AF pre-dates Facebonk!

I think I still have somewhere, downloads of one of the pre cursors to AF - remember the Australian Citroen forum? The early admins were DoubleChevrons, Alan S and I think Greenblood. There were also Yahoo groups - some of which still exist.

A truly remarkable milestone gibgib, I realised this when making a post in the 100Kb Limit thread a week or so back.

I had to do my sums several times to be convinced we had actually been online for 20 years

I remember joining as a tadpole with the username Frenchfry, my isp at the time folded and without an email address and loss of password I re-joined as GreenBlood. . . the joys of dial-up modems and sweating on your ability to get online after several attempts hahaha

A good few forums and groups have fallen by the wayside in the last 20 years - it is a credit to you that we continue to enjoy and benefit from aussiefrogs.

"Sharing the Knowledge for 20 years"!!! Remarkable. . .

    Many thanks

Edit: If the link works, using the Wayback machine. I find a post by French Fry and Greenblood in 2001
    https://web.archive.org/web/20010414...000&LastLogin=

French Fry getting little response to a new thread 'DS Tyres' - try that today hahaha and GreenBlood asking about Unleaded - little has changed. . .

    Cheers

    Hi gibgib
Congratulations and thanks for your great forum, thanks also to GreenBlood, DoubleChevron, David S, mistareno and all the other moderators who helped to keep it running smoothly.
I have only been on here for about 9 years but have enjoyed it, still enjoy it, and contribute regularly. I hope to continue for a while yet And what a great help it has been to literally thousands of Froggers world wide !!
    More strength to you all.

PS I also like the moderating here. Not too heavy but firm if needed.

    Dear All

Sincere thanks from me too to those with the vision to set up AF 20 years ago, together with the commitment to keep it going and on the rails for so long

As somebody without engineering training or trade experience, working in unrelated areas all my life, I have learned an immense amount from all on the forum, together with the occasional sigh of relief as I see that I am not the only person in the world who made a particular mistake

It is a sign of the success of the forum that when one googles " WTF do I do about x,y or z" on that day's delinquent Frog there will be 3 or 4 hits on AF in the first ten that come up. In other words, the site is of international standing, which may be why we get input from all over.

    Many thanks to all concerned
