    Default Tasmanian Tour in 2020

Noting the success of the CitroŽnists touring Tasmania after the last two CitIns here, we are looking at a project for 2020. The concept which came from the French Car Club of Tasmania, is to organise such a tour but for all marques of French origin. We can provide the meeting points, accommodation recommendations, routes and ideas on things to do and see. We will also talk to our friends at CitroŽn Club of Tasmania to help us make sure that all cars have access to service and support for our unusual vehicles, that are often beyond the knowledge base of the motoring organisations.
It will be an interesting opportunity for those with electric vehicles to check out our charging points. Our electricity is hydroelectric but I am assured that it will not make your batteries go rusty.
I am looking for mainland Clubs who will join with us in the planning and promote the tour to their members. The first subjects to agree on are when and how far off metalled roads that we go, if at all. With respect to when, we are looking at French slanted happenings in which we can get involved and of course, the impact of school holidays.
Tasmania has and is building further an international reputation for gourmet food production. We can help you find the exceptional food and drink that doesn't reach the tourist bus tours.
Who is interested - Peugeot - Renault - CitroŽn Clubs ?? and lets not forget the Simcas, Panhards, Delage and all the other lost marques???

I think that you have a great concept there.

When do you have nice weather?
    Forget that!
I just checked and Targa Tasmania is on from April 27 to May 2. (2020)
So a time frame that allowed viewing a stage or more would be appreciated by most of the likely participants (I would imagine)
Maybe a route for the Frenchies which crisscrossed the Targa route at some locations but kept them out of the heavily booked accommodation areas for convivial evenings at a lower cost.
    Just a thought.
I’d love to bring my over 30yo Renault.

I am a club member and committee member of RCCV.

After success of our inaugural Rendezvous 2017 which saw us travel to SA via the great ocean road
and Rendezvous 2018 which saw the club travel to Temora NSW we are looking to doing the next Rendzvous in Tassie for 2019.

    Just putting it out there......

Was brain dead when I posted that info.

SHOULD READ we are looking to do it in 2020.

It is in early stages of planning.
The question of other groups tagging along will be broached.

It's so far out that Spirit of Tasmania doesn't have bookings open yet so no urgency (yet).....

When I was last in Tassie for Cit-In there were lots of signs announcing road closures for the upcoming Targa. I’d imagine touring with a large group during Targa would be a challenge.

All depends what roads you decide to use, its pretty easy to navigate around the road closures.

Its only certain roads on the particular day and the closures are only for about 4 to 5 hours.

If you planned you could include Targa as part of the tour if that was so desired.

You don't need a heater, just bring an extra overcoat

    Default 2020 RCCV Rendezvous

    OK

RCCV committee had a brainstorming session before xmas 2018 and has INITIALLY penciled in the following dates:

    Renault Car Club of Victoria

    2020 RENDEZVOUS

Saturday 21 March - leaving Melbourne
Sunday 5 April - concluding run (leaving Tas/or arriving in Melb OR other - yet to be decided)

    Thoughts are $3-4K costs?????

Last Rendezvous (2018) had less than 20 people attending, so, other groups RENDEZVOUS-ing should not be an issue.
More people = cheaper booking of accommodation??????
Anticipation is that the participants will be in groups of 4/5 cars.

    ????? At this stage anticipating 2020 F1 Grand Prix 17 March - 20 March ?????

This is something Iím definitely interested in.
Took my DS23 on a RACT rally some years ago and it was a hoot!
Iíve also done a couple of other privately organised tours, so your pricing looks close to the money.
    Cheers

Me also + 1 and agree,

Peugeot plastics piss me right off. Metal replacements are on the way and will see me to Tassie and back! Time is with me to get into design and the use of a CNC lathe.

Not only the 2 CitIns, the previous administration of the French Car Club of Tasmania also ran 2 very successful Peugeot Pageants in Tasmania over the past few years.

I'm interested, as are some others in the 4CV Register. Are the organizers writing to the various French car clubs to see who might want to attend?
