    Default 11 Years Between Drinks

11 years ago I vanished after selling my 405mi16...
Today I return after picking up a Megane RS 265 Trophy...
There are still some familiar names on here but no one probably recalls me!
Just saying hello and I missed French cars

Son has a RS250. Great handling. Went up to Sydney with him to take delivery 3 years ago and we drove down to Melb. via Eden.
Thought I would suffer from my crook back. All was OK and I was surprisingly comfortable.

And here's me thinking after 11 years of virtuous living the poor bloke's fallen off the wagon and fallen into bad habits and disreputable company.

But it then that's probably true.

    Welcome back.

    Remember you well.

In my opinion, unless OzRS have changed dramatically I would give them a wide berth. Some of them came on a RCCQ drive night and to say they were IDIOTS is an understatement. Overtaking on double lines at 2am in the morning downhill out the back of Mt Nebo and nearly killing 2 carloads of car club members kids...Not cool and they will have to do heaps to redeem themselves in my eyes

I am a member of the site for pure info reasons. I'd never go on a drive organised by an internet group of wannabe race drivers with no insurance HAHA

Agree with the drive days...I used to go on a few but it's fairly easy for people to go from spirited drive, to believing they are racing for a cash prize.
Definitely need to pick your crowd!

    Welcome....er, back !

How do you find the 265 ? I've been thinking of upgrading the R26 but it'll be hard to better it !

    Cheers

I actively look for excuses to drive it
The ride is firm which is great, but it makes my other car feel like I have marshmallows for suspension. Pulls hard and the "fun button" is addictive.
Only thing I am getting used to is the seat, I've never sat in that style of seat so the slight flex while cornering takes some adjustment.

Ah yes - the Trophy didn't come with the Recaro's did it - I think they might have been option ?

The R26 came with Recaro's in the UK but not in OZ as the Recaro's at the time didn't have airbags and they were going for the safety aspect in the advertising of having the seat airbags. Phooey I say !

    Cheers

Recaros are fitted on mine. Not sure if they were an option or standard fitment, but it has an airbag on it.
