    Default A Pleasant Lunch

Yesterday saw a very select group of Retired Gentlemen foregather for a day of gentle touring and a convivial Luncheon.

One Group, 2 from Melbourne, 2 from Phillip Island, met at Lang Lang for the obligatory coffee before heading to the Luncheon Venue via a circuitous, and always interesting, route. This Group comprised a Classis Mini Cooper S, a Peugeot 205 CTI (Convertible), a Renualt 5 GTL and Gaston on his inaugural "proper" run.

The Bass Hills provides an ever changing vista of panoramic views, all reachable by really interesting roads. Much Fun was had.

We met a contingent of Gippslanders in their Classic Minis at Archie's Couch, the restaurant/pub at Archie's Creek, for a convivial luncheon in which tales were tall and laughter was loud, as usual.

Afterwards we went our separate ways once more, the Melbourne and Phillip Island components finishing at a lookout for a quick Photo Opportunity overlooking Westernport.

Those of you following the gradual development of Gaston from a pile of rust to fun velocipede will be glad (possibly) to know that he performed with great aplomb. Cruising at 100kmh is not as hard on the ears as expected and, despite being on almost wide open throttle all day as hills were climbed, returned 45 miles per gallon in the old school measure.

A Fun Day. Good Friends, Fun Cars on Fun Roads and Excellent food. What retirement is supposed to be all about!

    Cheers, Pottsy.
